Considering GLB didn't force you into anything I would say my thoughts are either do something about it when the time is right or field a more competitive team.

This is really a huge problem in GLB. People field part of a team whether it is just a couple guys trying to live out their careers for stats or a farm team. Then they get mad when they are faced with competition. Why is GLB supposed to cater to your crap?

How was Bort supposed to know you didn't have anything coming in for players or that you weren't even planning on trying?

I mean I don't like playing 255-0 games either but what really are they supposed to do? You have 44 players on your team ffs...is he supposed to make that assumption that you aren't gonna remedy that?

GLB is only going by one assumption. Everyone is playing to win and everyone has a fair chance to do so.

It's not just the Crows, either.

You have the Miami Hookers in North American Pro with an EL of 59.
You have the West Ashley Tigers in South Atlantic Pro with an EL of 63.
You have the Wu Dang Kung Fu Academy in Pacific Pro with an EL of 56.

These teams are going up against ones with EL as high as 83 and so you end up with 255-0 games. If this is how the game is designed to work, then fine. Whatever. Leave it as is and blame it on stupid owners and agents who don't want to retire their dots.

So all of those teams had that EL last season and a losing record to go with it, but did not demote? Or they had the record to stay, script run for promotion/demotion, they stayed put and then gutted?

Also you keep bringing up EL, what importance do you think that should play in the promotion/demotion script? Like if you had to list the top 5 criteria, where would it fall? Or, would it even fall in the top 5? If not, where then?

Yes but Wu doesn't care, we merged with a different team and took any dot we could just for a full roster. Your dot is so far in decline and is going to suck no matter what, I don't see the big deal.

When did that happen before roll over to this season or after?

Wouldn't matter. As long as the owner didn't make a request to move down it is what it is.

What pisses me off more than anything though is an owner who comes into a team forum and says hey guys we are just gonna sit here on a CPU team all season. Sorry. And they don't request a demotion.

To be fair, it's not his team. He just has a dot on it.

However, there are still steps he could've taken to try to head off this situation -- PM'ed the team owner, contacted Support, or found another team. He chose to do none of them, but now he's spending more time whining about it in the forums on Day 8 than he spent trying to actually fix the problem when it still could've been fixed. THAT'S the part that gets me. He can't write a PM or a Support ticket during the offseason, but he has plenty of time to argue with people in the forums later.

Effective use of his time, eh?

That makes no sense. Why should a team ever be promoted that:

1) was 10-6 in a crappy Reg Pro league and barely made the playoffs
2) got blown out in the first playoff game
3) had dots that had ELs well, well below their actual level
4) had an owner that gave no inclination he wanted his team be promoted

There is no guessing of intentions here. The team had no business being promoted.

Did you even read the beginning of this post? I am not the owner and have never owned a team before. I just build dots.

I know it isn't his team. But he is trying to say something better could have been done. Which it really can't unless you force people to field contending teams or strip them. Which obviously isn't something they are going to do to paying customers.

Not sure why that is even relevant. You are the one bringing it up.

the part that gets me is he is keeping his well declining dot around not caring about the teams that so happen to be competitive at the regional pro level but at the national pro level apparently it matters.

there's always gonna be blowouts unless they hand went through all the teams which wont happen, so i dont see how it matters

The team made the playoffs in a Regional Pro League. They made no intention of not competing or NOT wanting to be promoted. How hard is that to understand?

Again...
