I agree, just make the defensive players not all of a sudden forget how to play football on certain plays.

If you think screens are the biggest problem right now you are completely out of touch. But there are things wrong with plays that go out of the LB's boundaries in general....which sucks.

No, they don't.

You sure do like to say something doesn't work that my team does and shows works and has worked from rookie to pro.

Not saying nerf them.. I am saying.

1. Limit them to HB's with some catching ability. At least 48 catching seems reasonable
2. Give the defense a chance to defend them using the pass rush aggressiveness slider. If you want to give a larger penalty to breaking pass blocks on 100% passive, that's fine but give the defense a chance to defend it.

3. Make them easier to sniff out the more you run them. In GLB, the repeat play penalty isn't in effect if you run 5 different screen plays, but in the real world if you run ANY screen once or twice, the defense is going to be a little more wary of screens in general in the future.

Yeah, I advocated an additional repeat play penalty just for screens. I don't think screens are that out of balance right now, though. It would be nice if you needed 30+ catching to handle them reliably, but it's not a big deal.

Why though? Why should you need some arbitrary catching number to catch a screen pass? There are certainly times in which low catching guys suffer on a screen and low catching guys aren't good on any route catching passes, so the balance works out just fine in that regard right now.

The problem with suddenly adding a 30-40 catching requirement to screens is that it makes no long term impact. A build barely sacrifices anything to hit those benchmarks, maybe a point or two in a couple majors tops. The only impact would be short term as it would screw over every plateau'd back that was built for the current sim.

Yep, the answer is to arbitrarily continue nerfing everything.

Really you are only hitting power backs. Everyone else gets some ALG's to catching and ends at worse in the mid 20's with no training whatsoever. But like you said, those numbers aren't sacrificing much of anything except current builds. The point brought up to bring back the fall down bs though would pretty much just piss me off. There is a reason we all pushed them to knock that shit off. It was just dumb.
