I would rather see that in the team forum than some lying idiot that proclaims "we will compete" despite the fact the roster is half CPU and the other half are shit builds. If my team is not going to be competitive I'm not going to lie to the agents with the team. If you tell agents you will compete, make the playoffs, ect... with a less than competitive roster it just makes you look like a noob owner.

If you are on a team, and half the team is CPU and half the team is shit builds, and your guy is not a CPU.....

not so much a thing owners say, but signing to a human team and then a day later noticing the team is comprised of like 25 different agents each with exactly 2 players and you realize you might actually be the only non-multi there

lol at anyone who complains about owners or agents on a team. you signed up for the team, shouldve asked the owner more questions before committing. i hope every team youre on quits before game one if you just randomly sign with people.

also, im not saying dont sign with people you dont know, just do your research and ask questions.

i made a FB in the offseason for a guy ive never even seen post and KP is the OC he was cool in the PM and never promised anything that wasnt achievable:
- we'll do the best we can every season while building for the future
- you'll have a few touches every game
etc.

he couldve said:
- we'll win tons of championships
- you'll be the main guy on offense

if he said #2, i would never have signed with them. its simple to weed out bad owners and good owners. even if their team isnt the best.

This is why you do you homework on who you are signing with and if you have any doubts you ask the owner his plans before you sign.
And if you do not like what you are hearing after the fact you can always ask for a release.

The main key is to sign with owners that want you and claim to be planning to win big up front , it's called recruiting.

2 of the most telling things about the team vs. individual focus of GLB.....
Owners/GMs unable to know what tactics dots are set to.
No draft for 1 season for dots entering Nat. Pro leagues.

The first is likely a WULT team.

Optimism is good and everything, but how the individual agents feel about the team has nothing to do with team performance through the season. Obviously having an active forum environment can help retain players and help with recruiting next season, which is something an owner should think about and attempt to foster among the team, but that can be done without any sort of optimism or pessimism for the current season.

And you know what, sometimes if you don't actively put your player out there and try to find a decent team, you'll end up signing with one of the shittier teams with a less active recruitment schedule. Most of the better teams do their recruiting between day 20 and day 40, a lot of rosters are already full before the off-season even begins, so as a player that is the best time to advertise your dot and make a commitment.

That's great. If all players are made at optimal times. Which is about 8 out of 50 days. New agents come and make players all the time in between those days.

Individual agents are people. with morale that goes up and down. not people in a box. real people. I would never sign with a team for 'next season' when they are known to toss in the towel before game 1. My personal preference.

Thanks. I will definitely think twice about posting in the community forums here, with the league of elites just waiting to jump on others.

im probably worse than you tbh. when you come in here and complain because you chose a shitty owner, it makes you look foolish. its your own fault that youre on a bad team.

I don't care about being on a bad team. my post was about morale. I think i've explained that a few times, but it's fine if you want to look past that and continue to berate me. I think i'm beginning to see why this community doesn't see many new members.

Well, let's not absolve the team owner of all responsibility either.

That said, a lot of drama involving bad team owners would indeed be avoided if more players would do their homework before signing with teams, instead of just signing with the first guy who promises them a gold ring and a starting spot. As I recently posted in another thread...

1.) If a team owner promises you a starting spot, RUN AWAY. He's either lying just to get you to sign on the dotted line (and you don't want to play for a liar), or he's telling the truth but is willing to let a player keep their starting spot even if it's hurting the team (which in turn means he's incompetent and you don't want to play for them anyway).

2.) Ask questions. Find out what the team owner has planned for your dot, what sort of offense they'll be running, what sort of defense they'll be running, who is going to handle all of the duties for the team, what sort of experience the owner and his coordinators have, etc. If their answers sound like they were written by a 6 year old, odds are they're not organized and dedicated enough to run a team the right way. If their answers sound evasive, vague, or don't make any sense, find another team.

3.) Take your time. Don't rush things. Wait a few days before you sign with a team. The odds of you missing out on a great opportunity with a great team are slim, as long as you're honest with the team owner and let them know you're going to take your time making up your mind.

I have plenty of guys I signed in that fashion. My 'one' guy on a bad team doesn't bother me. I used the in-game contract offer system with him. I had no quams with him going to a random team. People read it how they want. I appreciate those that had actual things to say, rather than tell me i'm dumb.
