15 max adjust at one time

Seeing as trying to use Wiki is a complete waste of time I can't find the Bort quote on this but I don't think 15% is the max adjust at one time. I could be wrong but I don't remembering it being 15%.

assign 1-5 to autoadjust setting

then based on how the play went its mutliplied

i will however mention that a negative score doesnt ever reach -15

What do you mean assign 1-5 to auto adjust setting?? You set it to medium or quickly or very quickly or whatever and then based on how the play went it raises the percentage of the play by like 3% or 5% or whatever the percent is that matches up to the auto adjust setting. I don't see where you are getting 3 x 5 at all or assigning 1 -5 at all??

it you have auto adjust cranked to full....5 is the multiplier

now if a run play gains you 4 yards its a decent run (4 is borts starting point for a decent run...0-3 is neutral)

if it goes 25 yards the multiplier is higher (this is where im gettin the 3)

runs and passes are different

I can't say whether you are right or wrong since Wiki sucks and finding information relevant to this game sucks but you may be right. I was always led to believe that the most a play would adjust is 5%. I did not know that if went for 25 yards that it multiplied it. This is the first I have heard of that.

Sure do wish GLB would have a better set up for looking this kind of information up

Right, now let's add auto adjust to it:

Start with 4 plays at 100%.

Sim normalizes that to 25%-25%-25%-25%

Run a play, it works, auto adjust adds say 2% to that play.

You now have 102%-100%-100%-100%

Sim normalizes that to 25.4%-24.9%-24.9%-24.9%, it's basically unchanged

Same scenario starting at 25%-25%-25%-25%

Now the 2% added by auto adjust gets you 27%-25%-25%-25%

Sim normalizes that to 26.5%-24.5%-24.5%-24.5%. The effect of auto adjust is roughly 4x greater.

You have a wrong understanding of how auto adjust works Fu.

I used to think the same as y'all are trying to tell me. I even said so in a thread like this before have romo and several others correct me on it convincingly.

Then, I took the percentages down from 100-150-200ish to 25-35-50ish in my packages and suddenly auto adjust was having an obviously greater effect on my playcalling.

That's been my experience as well.

I understand the official line from Bort and Catch. I just think the official line from Bort and Catch is based on a misunderstanding of their own code. And as I said before, it wouldn't be the first time they were mistaken about what their code was supposed to do versus what it actually does.

This sim is complicated, peeps. I'm actually somewhat impressed that doesn't happen more often.
