the moderation got so bad it effectively killed the wl forum and it's stayed dead for like 5 seasons

I would disagree. You guys have over modded the forums and people got fed up with it or they have left the game. The game was much more fun prior to some of the current mods. I'd also venture to say having the user base mod the forums was stupid. Opened the doors to favoritism and bias to name a couple of issues.
People who left the game because they were "mad about moderation" were planning on leaving anyway.

Literally nobody ever has quit a game because they didn't like the forums.
While it is a pretty popular statement to make yourself look good for quitting, but that's just what it is.

The GLB forums are "dying" but P&R, a niche part of the forums, has 4 pages of threads (equates to roughly 160 individual threads) in the last month. Even GLB main, where people are afraid to post, adds another 120 or so.
bombs going off at the end of marathons will do that - and even P&R goes private from time to time when it gets over modded - I post less there now because of some of the bans, and I don't have a ban record

I dumped my ESPN Insider that came with the magazine subscription I got (and didn't re-new the mag) because of their modding crap - cost them $1.50 a month or whatever - but the point is people DO stop spending money places when they don't like the service - includes online spending

So you canceled a mag that you didn't care much for and used the moderation to make yourself feel better.

My PFs and some team forums are much better than the mains. It's like grounding a kid and telling him to stay in his room all day (where all the cool stuff is located).

Side story:
I once was warned on a forum because I was "rude" to someone who suggested using Yahoo over Google.
I tend to think some people take the somewhat looser GLB forum rules for granted. It's not 4chan but it's certainly nowhere near some parts of the interwebz where you are contacted by a moderator for being "rude".

That being said, it's not a rollercoaster where GLB is going to splat. By pushing out new games they can easily grow the all-encompassing brand (warrior general games or whatever they decide to call it) while bringing some new members to GLB and rejuvenating it a bit. Even if they didn't push out new games it'd be a slow demise. We'd all be here for a while.
Not acceptable, hire the right people that know how to market this product.

There is some truth to this. User-based moderation can be a bad thing. It can work, but has to be monitored closely by someone impartial.

Ah, I'd guess they were because Air can't ban you and Warhawk is more or less MIA.
