Yeah. I use the ROLB1 and MLB1 depth chart slots for my blitzing LB and I use LOLB1 and LILB1 for my Power LBs. Otherwise my coverage LBs are in.

Best thing to do is create the plays, copy them all to "My Plays" in your tactics (or build them there in the first place) then create D packages for the situation (this is where you select which depth chart slot you will use for this play).

Then you put them all into your AI.

Then you run some simulations and find all the mistakes that you made.

Have fun! It is very time consuming, but one of the more rewarding things you can do in the game.

what if i have 2 inputs:

1) speedy HB/Rec TE/passing QB
2) Any HB/Blocking TE/ Rushing QB

which one will fire if speedy hb/rec TE/rushing QB are on the field?

If you don't use packages, you select the player you want in via the output instead.

Like TT said, have fun! I love defense.

Input 1.

Don't forget your AI works from top to bottom. It will read the top-most input if there are multiple matching inputs.

Rushing QB is actually one of the less stressful and easier situations to scout and stop.

i currently have

i form/hb/bte/pass qb
i form/hb/rte/pass qb
i form/powerback/rte/ pass qb
i form/powerback/ bte/ pass qb
i form/ rush qb

will that make the rushing qb one fire every time the rushing qb is in?

That's one advantage of extensive tagging is your have less to worry about in terms of AI logic

one last thing.

i have Big I at the top for 5 inputs then i have I(any variation) underneath. so every time Big I comes onto the field, my Big I will fire since its at the top and then any other I will fire if its not big i?

If none of your inputs matches, you will get basic AI.

That's why you should always have an untagged input at the end that plays a conservative play.

For instance:

RTE/BTE and RQB/PQB are tagged

The play is I form RTE/RQB and you have:

Input 1. I Form - RTE/PQB - Passing Output 1
Input 2. I Form - BTE/RQB - Rushing Output 1
Input 3. I Form - Untagged - Untagged Output 1

The AI will call Untagged Output 1. If you don't have a catch-all after each formation type, you might get burned by an unexpected tagging combination. That is also why I include the intended tag in the name of the play... if I watch a game and see that the wrong play is being called it is easier to fix.

It might also make sense (and it is something that I did when first starting) to have six plays at the very bottom of your AI (U/V/W/X/Y/Z simply being the last six inputs in your AI):

U input - 0 WR untagged - Goalline formation plays
V input - 1 WR untagged - Big I formation plays
W Input - 2 WR untagged - 2 WR plays
X Input - 3 WR untagged - 3 WR plays
Y Input - 4 WR untagged - Spread Formation Plays
Z Input - 5 WR untagged - 5 WR plays

You can run all zones or do something that clearly identifies that you screwed up somewhere and left a tagging combination open to be exploited.

You also need to remember that if you care about the outcome of scrims, some teams will quick scrim you and you won't have the time to tag them. In that case, you need to figure out what plays you are going to call when the team you are playing is untagged (or partially tagged if a player that you tagged once left a team and moved to the team you are now playing).

dont really care about scrims. but yeah i always add long names for plays. my memory is terrible so i like to short form everything i can and place it in the title. ill be sure to do that untagged thing. im sure thatll save me quite a few times.

thanks a lot guys. really appreciate it. this DPC and DAI is pretty overwhelming compared to the OAI.
