Some guy named JD something came up with this. This will help you when you decide to retire and start a new dot.

Basic build plan for any .5 ALG dot
If going strength first then pick one pound below the maximum. If picking speed first then pick one pound above the minimum. Enhance the first attribute to 10%, train intense three times, enhance to 20%, then train intense until you have a nearly full bar at 32.9x. Convert 15 bonus tokens to a skill point and cap to 48.9x. Then boost. Next season you'll enhance to 30% and normal train, then second cap, then continue normal training, then third cap. At that point you'll unlock and enhance your attributes for multi-training.

That dude has officially hit Comic Book Guy status for me. Seriously. He knows a lot, but I can't read anything he posts anymore without hearing it in my head in Comic Book Guy's voice, which makes everything he posts seem ridiculous -- even the stuff he's right about.

Like him or not...he has never knowingly given bad advice in this forum. At least I have never seen him do it.

He gives great advice. I quote his early 0.5-ALG build plan in FAQ a lot for other users, since he doesn't come into FAQ much anymore to post it himself.

But if you disagree with him in the slightest, he pours on the personal insults like a tsunami, and it's completely unneeded.

Try disagreeing with him on something sometime, Bear. You'll see.

Comic Book Guy. That's what he is to me now.

Careful... he'll take it as a personal insult that you've only credited him with a 1-point lead over me.

Confidence too high, strength too low, too many SAs, maximizing speed before strength or carrying on a power back.

The other thing to look at are the Major attributes for a build. If you go to the skill points adding screen you will see gold and blue stars beside some attributes. The amount of automatic level gains (ALGs) for each attribute starts at 2/(gold stars) and 1/(blue stars). This decreases as you level higher, so it is very important to get the most out of your ALGs early.

Pick an attribute that you want to take to 100 first. For a power back that will be strength or carrying. At first you are going to intense train that attribute and buy three training enhancements on it. If you read the build questions in FAQs there's a few decent roadmaps on how to get to 61 or 62.5 by day 0 of the rookie season. This means that from level 4 to level 24 you are going to earn .5 ALGs in that attribute at the 3:1 cap or better. That's three times the SP cost savings of improving it.

Then you are going to start unlocking multi-training of strength/carrying/speed/agility and spend BTs to improve those attributes training gains. Keep sending SPs to improve strength/carrying (whichever you decided to start with) until you get to 83. At that point, you can stop spending SP, but continue training it until it gets to 98-100, then train it over one last time and switch training to something like else (jumping/stamina/vision depending on what you want to do with your dot).

There will be times when you don't want to train an attribute. I mentioned above about how at 36 it was more efficient to spend SP to get to 49 and then resume training over the cap. This will slow your ascent to 100, but will give you a much better final build.

Once you reach level 65+ you can start spending points on SAs like power thru. But SAs don't get any ALGs, so every point you spend in them while improving your dot is a point that is 'wasted'.

Your next dot won't be elite, but of you follow that plan, it will at least be level 79 EL 84.

Thanks, this explains it much more clearly. The HB is actually doing well on the field, Lots of broken tackles and TDs, but I couldn't figure out how I was messing up on EL. It helps to understand how it is calculated, and how to best train for it.

You say that like it's a good thing.

Try disagreeing with him sometime. You won't find him so funny anymore.

About 30% of jdbolick's posts could be replaced with that image with no loss of actual content from him whatsoever.

Keep in mind, though, you're playing in a Competitive league, not an Elite league, so the level of competition in your league is rather low. I just ran the Effective Level script on your league, and out of the 32 teams in there, 11 of them have less than 40 human players on their roster. In the Elite league in your tier Regional Minor Elite #1, that number is 2 teams. And comparing the average Level, Effective Level, and Player Values for all the teams in your league compared to Elite, the averages are all much higher in Elite.

So, your dot may be racking up stats right now, but that could just be a product of playing against inferior competition.

Still, if you're having fun with him, keep playing him. And whenever you're ready to start over with a new dot, yes, jdbolick's early-build plan as posted by TheBear up above is a great way to start.

Alot of people wont agree with this, but once i get my training percentages to 3 stars on all 4 of my multi, i always trade in my BT for skill points up to lvl 60. And then i start working on AEQ, which i only ever get 2 for my players.

Traiding in your BT and getting as many skill points as possible seems to work really well. And of course you have to be smart with your training and know your caps and all that complex GLB BS
