It's boring, the owners of this game are too stubborn to change things now they are out of BETA and the fact that DD still owns 50% which gives him a big of a say as anyone despite the fact he's totally out of touch with the reality around here doesn't help either.

Despite not originally liking Catch, he has some good ideas. Certainly ones that could get this game back to where it used to be to some extent. So he's probably the only Admin who provides any sort of hope at change.

Explosive growth, so much that a 3rd Semi-Pro League was necessary for the CPUs!

I thought I saw a huge mole on her ass but it was just a smudge on my monitor....

For me, in the past ~30 seasons GLB has evolved from a mysterious endeavour to a fascinating science.

That's hilarious.

Considering their are only 10 people left playing the game, getting an 11th was a huge success!

I actually believe Catch22, for what it's worth. If you cherry-pick your data window to start with the moment GLB left Beta and factor in the e-mail blast to inactive users, it makes sense that there's been a temporary uptick in activity. We all saw long-dormant people popping up out of nowhere in the forums around that time, and having two free player slots plus a bunch of unspent Flex would be enough to coax some people out of "retirement" to take another look at the game.

I still found it worth noting, however, that Catch's claim was "much-ridiculed," because it certainly was, which goes to show how much jaded skepticism there is among the userbase about the future of this game. And much of that skepticism is well-founded... since that e-mail blast, no additional outreach efforts have been made to expand the userbase. Bort and Catch seem content to coast on that for a bit while they work on the much-heralded Awesome New Game Of Destiny, which they believe will attract more players to both the new game and to GLB.

Most people just straight-up don't believe Catch's claim. I absolutely believe him... I just question the significance of that claim. Every one of those once-inactive users who is back in the game had a reason for leaving in the first place. And since today's GLB is basically just a more-complicated version of yesterday's GLB with fewer players, there's a good chance that, sooner or later, the same reason that made each of those once-inactive players leave the first time is going to make them leave a second time.

So, congrats, Catch, on the temporary influx of additional active users. Too bad you're squandering your chance to keep them.

This. I have quite a few people who are active in the TEAM forums I'm associated with, but who I NEVER see post in the public forums.

Forum activity has certainly dwindled, but I think that's more a sign of the more casual fans getting bored with the game and leaving. Still quite a few people left who are playing the game.

Catch22 recently made the much-ridiculed claim that the active userbase is actually growing right now. I think we could all agree there are fewer active users now than there were, say, 3 years ago. But with GLB recently leaving Beta and doing an e-mail blast to inactive users asking them to come back, I could certainly believe that -- at this moment -- the userbase is growing from where it was at the time GLB left Beta. Only time will tell how long that lasts, though... if GLB squanders this moment, it may just be a temporary blip on the chart.

When you consider how the freep thing now rewards multis, I can see the player base growing as well. Its the paying customer base I wonder about.

But football is a huge market. If they would ever get the game ready to be marketed to the right people, this would take off.

Actually, the free player doesn't reward multis as much as free flex did. More than a few people bought a team and then would transfer it to one of their multis every other season basically owning a team without ever buying any flex. The free player slots is actually much less exploitable than the old way.

Game is fun, moved outta beta a few seasons back. still pretty popular. Private and team forums rock. GLB main forums are over moderated cause of all the new women and children that now play the game. League forums are much better now that Dadd is in prison. Player building is awesome. Most users want upgrades to graphics and changes to player salary potential. Deathblade has matured a lot. Player trading is nearly extinct. If you need any help with anything PM me and I will try to get you in touch with the proper info or you can PM Catch22 and he is very helpful to the user base. Cobra Kai rage quit a few seasons ago. That was sad. I miss their brag and rage threads.

Cobra Kai quit? What happened? Damn, i used to play with and for him on here, Him and I and Coachviking and Digital Daggers and Sam Bolster and a bunch of others were all part of alpha testing. Actually we all knew each other from Cyberdunk, even Bort used to play there. I'm still on CD though im not sure about Cobra Kai and the rest.

Cyberdunk is going through same thing as GLB. People not posting but activity is growing. CD also has 2 forums (in-game and a separate one) so that doesnt help either.

And the ones who do usually have nothing positive to say about the game they spend 40 hours a week playing
