TT is right. If that ball leads the WR then it's a first down. People acting like there is nothing wrong are the reason why nothing gets done here and why this has been a problem for God knows how long

This doesn't explain the one in the OP, but a lot of times it appears that the QB won't lead if the WR is running towards the sideline. I think there were some problems back in the day with passes being led out of bounds so Bort put in something to stop that. I wonder if that could be toned down or removed.

Thats why. The juke isnt always necessary. Proper leading could lead to the 1st in it of itself

It's so much easier to lead receivers on horizontal routes than vertical ones. Which is why I get a little upset when it doesn't happen on GLB.
