Unless it's GLB2.0 I don't give a shit. Only reason I want the new game to do well is so GLB will enjoy some residual effects from it.

I just wish football was the better game though haha. Baseball has some potential. I can see it being fun

Agree. I hate to point to Facebook games as an example but every Facebook game has a basic primer. GLB should do something similar and offer a one season "tutorial" mode for any activity a user attempts (dot building, team ownership, OC, DC). It would take some work to make it happen but then you'd have a way for new users to be informed.

in fact most pro football players could punt or kick, in an emergency/injury situation, A LOT better than a GLB dot does. same would apply to almost any OOP task. GLB is not very realistic in this respect.

if you asked RGIII to kick a FG or even asked most NFL kickers to play QB, I'd guess they'd perform as if they had about 50 in the skill in GLB, not 8.

I honestly don't see a re-write as their next project. I'd say the "next game" will be followed by baseball. If the company is still going at that point I could see GLB 2.0.


I want basketball, only because those sims would be amazingly difficult to watch all the way through.

Madden has tons of overlap where you end up with uncertainty and lost with what each attribute actually does. E.g. you've got speed, agility, acceleration, and elusiveness.

Also, the math stereotype is lulzy given that 99.9% of us don't break out calculators or excel spreadsheets. Are there optimal strategies to maximize attributes? Of course, but that's any game. Hell, in the past even Madden has had 'gaming' strategies with player creation, maximizing attributes that are hard to raise and while sacrificing in areas where it is easy to gain.


I've literally never once broken out a calculator while spending skill points.

The whole math thing is a pretty lame meme among people who are either too dumb or too lazy to learn to build dots that aren't godawful.

Like the people arguing that effective level is broken because their dot is -3
