I always assume that if it is 1 hour till it's too late, but yes sometimes (rarely) they start more than an hour early. But if the game starts at 2:00, you better be done with everything by 1:00. I wouldn't even think of the game starting at 2:00. I would treat it as starting at 1:00.

That's the thing, though, in this scenario, you DIDN'T wait until the last minute. You worked as fast as you could, which is why you got done 30 minutes early... but your boss moved the deadline without telling you, and then fired you for missing it.

What if the boss left at 11:00am instead of 11:30am? Or if he left at 10:00am? Is that still your fault for not having it done even earlier?

At some point the boss either should've warned you, "Hey, hurry up, I'm going to be leaving early," or he should've said, "Hey, sorry, I've gotta leave early, but I'm not going to fire you."

What if your boss, literally every single time, told you a project was due at 12:00 but asked for it at 11:00. Seriously, he had done this the last 500 times in a row and occasionally he asked for it even earlier, like at 10:30. Wouldn't you at some point, probably after the 10th time or so, just decide to either have the report done 1.5-2 hours early or just find another job if it bothered you so much?

And that's normally what I do. My gameplans are usually ready 4 to 6 hours ahead of time.

Tonight was the exception.

Get off your high horse, tpat.

By the way, can you tell that to Catch22, please? He seems to think otherwise.

Seriously. I'm asking for a finish line. Pull out a paint bucket and a paint brush, and paint a straight line across the track. That's it.

For this, I deserve ridicule from employees of the game?

Imo make the start time when the game starts simming and give an option to watch "live"

How about this... you're driving 69 miles per hour on a freeway with a speed limit of 70 mph... and a cop pulls you over and gives you a ticket for speeding, because his radar gun showed you doing 75 mph. Turns out his radar gun is miscalibrated.

What's your reaction in your own mind?

A.) "Fucking stupid cop. I wasn't even speeding... I was doing 1 UNDER!"

or

B.) "Well, I guess that's my fault... I should've been driving 60 mph so that it wouldn't have mattered that the cop's radar gun was miscalibrated."

To all the people who are telling me I should've had my gameplan done 6 hours ago, I'm going to guess your reaction wouldn't be B.). Just a guess.

Had a playoff game lock 75 minutes before posted game time back in like S9. Posted a suggestion following stating something about either forcing games to not lock more than 1 hour before posted time, or inform people games can start as much as 75 min early. Never got anywhere. For that reason, I figure if I don't have the gameplan in 75 minutes before a game, it's late.

Catch told me earlier he's never seen a sim start any earlier than 60 minutes before "sim time." I did some Googling and PM'ed him back with a lengthy list of GLB forum posts by people who've had sims start anywhere from 65 minutes to 90 minutes before "sim time."

I guess I can add both you and tpat to that list just tonight, since you've both had sims start more than 60 minutes before "sim time" as well.

I mean, here's the thing: you think 75 minutes is safe. But when it's possible for a sim to start 90 minutes before sim time, then 75 minutes really isn't safe after all.

We're all having to guess here... simply because Bort and Catch don't want to be bothered to pull out a can of paint and a paint brush and paint a finish line across the race track.

Ive never seen a game start more than 75 minutes before time.

Id be pissed if it ever locked before then...but otherwise I think its just something that you adjust to with the game. It does suck when you get the wrong end of it though.

I would find a new job and then slash his tires on my way out.

So you've also seen games that started simming as early as 65, 70, even 75 minutes before sim-time?

Catch told me earlier today he's never seen a game start more than 60 minutes before sim-time. Never.

Guess I'll add your post to my list as well.

PING72: "It's too inconsistent to plan. I normally have 60 minutes in my head...but I've been locked out close to 90 minutes prior to a game before"

...and a reminder, my team WON tonight, despite getting locked out early.

Imagine how pissed I'd be if we LOST.
