every single problem with a draft is rooted in the fact that people pay flex for their players and there is no quality control for team management. every potential problem. with no cash investment, the process would be a lot more laid back and fun.
solution: a 3rd, and maybe even a 4th free player slot, but they can only be used for drafts. Draft Player Slots or w/e. and you could buy teams tagged as draft teams. srsly not that hard GLB.

Its a great idea, its always tough to get a gaming community to put in the level of commitment it would take to do it.

Having a league does sound like the best option, and I think the demand would be such there would need to be multiple leagues. I don't think there would be any shortage of players who would opt for this; I think the trouble would be in the number of people who would want to own a franchise.

But the way to fix that is one that would bring a smile to Borts face. Set a HEFTY flex price on a team per season. ANd perhaps even force prospective owners pre-buy for a set number of seasons to offer some continuity.

Along those lines, Bort might consider allowing a consortium, with a Max number of owners to buy a club.

Hey Bort, new revenue stream.

I think you would be wrong in the assumption that there would be alot of agents signing up to play in such a league. Most people want to know who they will play for. personally I spend alot of money on building players. and I know personally I would rather not waste the time and money on building decent players just to have some sucky owner draft my player. yeah some agents would make a player or 2 just to help out the league if it were implemented. but in all honesty there are alot more crappy owners out there than there are good owners.

Yeah I have to agree with hatch, the demand to get your player into a draft system might be limited.

It would depend on the quality of the teams in the tourney league I guess. If there were some WL teams in there and you wanted to "get noticed" that might be a way to manage it.

But I do think there is a reason this petered out before and its not that it has a broad appeal. Rather I think it might have a large appeal to a few "role play" types and then generate some supportive interest from a good number of others if its actively pushed and administered by its core agents.

how many WL teams would actually waste time with a draft when they get to basically hand pick the players they want now? seriously the idea of a draft is a nice idea but I know for one unless I knew every team owner and knew that all teams had decent coordinating and had a better than average knowledge of the game. I wouldn't waste the flex to build a player because if you got drafted by a crappy team with crappy coordinating and ownership. then in short you wasted all the money spent on the player.

The problem with a more free player slots just for draft proposes would be everyone would want to make QBs & RBs and no one would want to make the positions that must teams wold actually be drafting for.

Yeah, people are going to give up their hand picked group of agents in favor of a system where they are forced to sign a bunch of randoms. lol

Could you imagine if Two Feet Calling It Quits had to pick between a LHF dot or some really shitty dots?

WLs have farm teams. The WL Agents is the point.

And yes you would know all the owners from the Draft forum.

And pay close attention at least as to MY idea (as opposed for the PF forum one)

You are putting up a dot to get a dot. So in that way its like trading dots, but in a fun way that gives low end teams a shot with your dots while you try to find a player to fill your roster.

Not as efficient as a network but it would be more interesting and for some folks that would be sufficient draw. Also it would be like a network without the time drag of trying to build a team together.

will never work the way building currently is and with the lack of active agents in this game.

at least to the point in which a full league made of it would be "fun.".

Hmmm, the Addicts had a draft system where you would put in a code in notes, sort and present listings for draft; which was held over 24 hour period. It not only worked, it worked well for those who actually showed up... It no longer exists...

It only works if you really want it to happen.
