SF would be dumb to trade alex smith away. He has 1 year left on his contract. Force his ass to be a backup and work out his year, good backups are hard to come by.

edit - well I just read they can't afford to keep him, so yeah trade him away

my thinking is, since you are obviously not re-signing him, trade him and get something while you can...
personally ive always thought he was good. i just think Weeden will be good too, so why trade anything,
when we need more not less?

ugh, but when ii think about it, SF had to make every mistake they could,
everything had to go right for the Ravens, and SF still should have won it in the end if they didnt eff it up so badly.

hold in the EZ? its not the story.
the story is that SF played like a bunch of green players giving away the superbowl.
the Ravens played like a team that has been there and wasnt gonna make mistakes.
SF must be the most talented team in the NFL- but that dont guarentee a title.
no sir it does not!

that was my plan for my first player, and i had some success with it at the lower levels,
but he was my first try when i started GLB so i didnt take him up to the higher levels.
i was wondering if there was anyone who's done that with Deion type success at Pro or WL.
it seems like it should be possible, but it also seems every agent wants their returner to play no defense these days...
