i am trying a Scat HB with the Returner S/A, seems to work pretty well in the first scrim I had.

No one wants to pay to make an hb returner while there are free HBs out there, but they can never make one free bc there are too many hbs.

Not true. You just gotta plan ahead and make him at rollover. I've got one.

A couple of seasons ago, there was about 8 hours where you could make free HBs. I got 2 of them. It will be fun to experiment with them.

More teams are creating speciality STOP players to stop returners.

I noticed a decline in returners and in teams looking for a returner -_- can't find a home for mine now.

yep I did too. Fair catching a returner seems to be a good tactic lately as well

Returners haven't been as fun for the last six seasons. It isn't just because of the gunner builds getting better, it is because blocking on special teams is pretty much broken. You can have three pieces of hold block gear on a dot designed to hold blocks and it will look like the other dot is covered in Vaseline, even if that dot has no break block gear and is designed to be a hard hitter instead of a block breaker.

It used to be that you could score on special teams if you could break two-three blocks, but in the modern sim you need the other team to just lose containment (punt team converges on the punter and leave the outside wide open) or to break/fake 6+ dots. The investment in special teams used to garner results, such that two otherwise equal teams could be decided by a couple of special teams returns.

These days, the only players making stats are playing in Regional Competitive leagues against CPUs and scrubs:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/hof.pl?all_time=0&type=st

There are very few dots on that page that played in Elite/Pro/WL last season (it is tough to tell now because of recruitment, so you have to look during the season). Pretty much all of those stats were chewed up against inferior leagues and inferior teams, while very few stats came from teams of equal quality.

Last Season:

and
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2034508

played in Reg Pro Casual #5. All-time ranked #4 and #8, just eating up the CPU and scum that hang out in casual reg pro 5.

p much this... especially the bold

It's the reason I was able to stop playing... no longer felt like my efforts on ST made much of a difference.

I enjoy spending money to see my returner running into the first gunner, maybe breaking a tackle for 2 yards and then running into the second gunner.

Building a returner now seems to only be focused on building a dot that doesn't fumble. That's the only difference in production.

But seriously, it's because I've become bored with building returners (I've already proven myself to be the best returner builder in the game).

The problem is they had to break STs because YMX was too good. Too bad for them he still ran over WL.

Oh, gee, thanks, Dave. Bang-up job so far. Extortion, coercion. You'll pardon me if I ask you to kiss my pucker. The same fuckers that rounded us up and sank us into this mess are now bailing me out? You think you can catch Keyser Soze? You think a guy like that comes this close to getting caught and sticks his head out? If he comes up for anything, it will be to get rid of me. After that...my guess is you'll never hear from him again. Who is Keyser Soze? He is supposed to be Turkish. Some say his father was German. Nobody ever believed he was real. Nobody ever knew him or saw anybody that ever worked directly for him, but to hear Kobayashi tell it, anybody could have worked for Soze. You never knew. That was his power. After that my guess is that you'll never hear from him again. The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that...he's gone.

Spacey is the shizzle.
