Well, there are many things that are to blame for that. However, speaking for myself personally, the whole 'network' thing killed the game for me. It became impossible to create a team that could compete unless you joined a gigantic network of teams. I hang around and login once every few days to run my players but the game became a huge time and money sink without any real possibility of competing unless you signed up with one of these huge networks that have 30 teams across 20 leagues.

Most of the networks were horrible, tbh. I preferred to remain an independent than to be hamstrung with a bunch of shitty network dots.
