Okay. So, where do I find a team that is for sale? I don't see any Rookie teams posted on the "By a Team" page but there are other higher league teams posted. Buy one of those, ask to have it moved down to a Rookie League for next season? And is day 40 still the best day to make dots? And thanks for the offer to make a couple of dots for me, guys.

you could buy a team from the flex point section thing then have it reset at the end of the season

oh I didn't mean actually filling it out. I meant on paper. Like saying QB will be agent x and down the line.

You can wait to buy a team. Save yourself the few flexies. There will be plenty of Rookie teams available when Bort adds new Rookie leagues (as he always does) around D42/43.

Oh, I see. Understand now. Well, I have a position roster or two from my PW team, with names, archtypes etc. I guess I can use one of those and start trying to recruit dots, tenative and not in the system actually, between now and whatever day is build and sign. All right. Let me find a team and buy it. Any suggestions or requirements in terms of buying a CPU team from some specific League? Or, just buy any one that's for sale?

If you don't care about the flexies, you can buy any team in the respective category you want and demote it down to Rookie.

Just remember you can't switch a casual team to regular or vice versa. If you don't really care to dabble in the AIs, casual will be the way to go.

Thanks. No, I'd like a regular team. It's a challenge and more interesting. Some of the best fun I had when I was here before was working up an offensive playbook and a defensive playbook and figuring out play-calling. Plus there's a bit of figuring out to do with the financial side, tho not as much I'd expect. So, I'll wait until Day 40 to start my dots and then when the Rookie teams are available for buying, buy one and mess around with it as needed then. I'm retired and on a budget, although doing okay it doesn't hurt to watch the expenses.

Depends on if you want real AI's or casual. That would be only difference I can think of.

Day 40 still starts the best time to build new players.
And day between day 40 and day 48 dot's created get same amount of training points. For every day after day 40 new dot's get an additional 2 TP as if they built on day 40. Before day 48 is best if you intend to boost. Actually new created dot's get retroactive TP's all the way to day 0 but you would miss the chance for creation season boost

And there is actually 6 plateau boost if you miss creation boost.... But you play underleveled all the way to Pro if you go that route

Thanks for the information on dot creation. That is a change from when I was active in GLB, but not a tremendous one, in it. I'm going to open up my old GLB files and start working up a roster for the new season and look over the AI for new plays and start brain-storming on playbooks and like that. Thanks to all for your help on getting started again. I'm looking forward to playing in GLB again.

If your going to buy and build all your own players for PW I would suggest practicing and building and retiring some now.People have been building some really good pw teams and owning all the players has a few advantages over hiring agents and dealing with alot of problems.But having a group building and posting in your forum keeps things lively.I would start building dots now and see what your looking for when you really try. .02

Forums are dead. Only reason there is any activity now is due to a moderator search for the new game that Pallow has been conducting. There aren't enough players to form a decent FA market. Bort and Co. are focused on the new game and merely allowing this one to stay up as long as people are still spending some money here.

If you want to buy a team and give it a go, that's cool. Just don't believe some of the bullshit you've seen in this thread. Trust your initial findings.
