Poorly built but you've got WL touches and an open build (with a similar build to what you're suggesting): http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=2354017

Led Pacific Pro in rushing yards last season.

why 12 in Juke instead of Spin?

also, did you put all your points in dive for yards at one time to be able to see how effective it is? no personal experience with that SA

It was an experimental short yardage fake/break HB. The Juke was essential.

Is the dive for yards worth it?

Not in the slightest, imo.

No? At least I don't think so. Too many to keep track of.

End build on my 'power' HB is going to be something like:

_______________________________
Speed - 78.26 (133.26) +55
Carrying - 103.10 +7.73 (Steady Grip)
Strength - 94.10
Agility - 87.10
Jumping - 63.26
Stamina - 55.26
Confidence - 42.10
Vision - 34.26
Blocking - 8
Catching - 8

Quick Cut - 1
Head Fake - 1
First Step - 1
Juke - 1
Spin - 2 (8) +6

Cover Up 4 (5)
LTS - 8 (9)
Stiff Arm - 7 (8)
Power Thru - 8 (9)

Hurdle - 8

AEQ:
Break Tackle Chance +25.5%
Spin + 6

Edit:
EL: 1428.64

The goal was to try and give him as many tackle-breaking weapons as possible. I favour carrying over strength because it does more 'stuff', also it increases by 0.5% per VA level versus Strength increasing at 0.3% per level. If strength had been at 103.10 instead of carrying, the increase from the VA would only be + 4.64 instead of + 7.73, a difference of 3.09 on my primary attribute.

I went with a bunch of jumping to activate Hurdle, though I might need to take agility down one cap in order to get jumping higher. Spin will still work with all four less agility, but hurdle might not activate without five to ten more jumping. Both will receive the benefit of very high carrying to assist in their firing.

This build might have benefited from some fakes, but the plan was to just invest in break tackle SAs and Break Tackle AEQ, and the opportunity to fire fakes with all that carrying wouldn't really benefit without some fake % gear IMO.

I beg to differ, my old HB in the pros got quite a noticeable increase in YPC by going 0 d4y to 10. While on the same team, league, etc and not adding SP to anything else...

I remember an old test server situation they did when they (throwing out random numbers here) compared the broken tackles on power backs. One had like 100 Strength and 50 carrying, the other had 50 Strength and 100 Carrying. The broken tackle amount and ratio per rush was almost identical. This may have been prior to VA's though so it may be obsolete. If I remember correctly though, the only difference was that the guy with more Strength tended to cough the ball up a bit more often than the guy with the high carrying.

If anybody remembers this, feel free to correct those off-the-cuff numbers.

The way I see it from all I've read.... Anyway you look at in (power, elusive, scat) carry is an important thing to not slack off on. Maybe not a need for crazy amounts in the 100's...But at least 80 minimum, I'm guessing. So, in the end it's a matter of how I want to attack it.... crazy high strength or comfortable strength and so on. I've gathered a good amount of different opinion here, which will help in my approach. Thank you

I like dive for yards if its a workhorse powerback. Close to 20 carries a game. It should add 15-20 yards to his game total if not more.

If he is gonna be a 10 carry a game HB its probably not worth it, go for something that would add to his big play ability unless a short yardage back then of course u want it.

I need to substantiate my claim that you're completely wrong in saying that pHB's don't have enough SP to invest in spins, fakes, or hurdles as well as power moves?

if you're a HB of any type.. I think it's fair to say 85+ is a minimum.. not one for hardline's, but in that ballpark at a min
