Rather than shorting the offseason, i would like to see the build process cut in half again. Still takes too long to build a player and get them to plateau. IMO

I wonder why GLB wouldn't do this. Agents would spend more $ faster if player life span was shorter.

So you know the 15 or so people I know IRL that I introduced to this game?

I mean, what I posted is not opinion. It's fact. The co-workers, family, friends I brought here all left during offseasons because their player stopped developing and they got bored. It's straight from their mouths. "Why all this time between real games?".

There are a lot of coordinators that can be burnt out over the course of the season and that 2-3 weeks off is great!

Plus having a 4 day off season will mess up the training for new players and existing ones.

that it is. A shorter offseason would be most likely the final step for my exit.

DOnt be a part of 5 teams. Its not our fault you over commit. If you dont like spending all the time, then simply do less for all the teams your a part of.

This ^^^

It still takes too long to re-invest in this game let alone be more then 0 cares in minor for a whole calender year.

And Dub J, the longer offseason saves MANY team owner bacons when trying to fill recruits in less then 2 weeks and re-coupe of some valuable team chem to at least start a season respectable.
Communist style moderating kills half the fun at anytime, not just off season and long player build time kills the other half from ALL i have seen come and go in GLB in 4+ years. That and it does cost alot to build players here too.

If you are recruiting during the offseason, you are doing it wrong.

Great! Now tell that to everyone else in GLB who commits to multiple teams. Teams will still have the same amount of support work that needs to be done, but now it will be split up among fewer people. I'm sure that won't cause problems at all! I mean, when I re-started my team this season, I had 18 people lined up wanting to be my Defensive Coordinator... in my dreams, that is.

Or I could flip it around on you... if you're bored in the offseason, then do more for more teams to fill the time. It's not our fault you under-commit.

...

Again, the problem is not the length of the off-season. The problem is the lack of things to do during the off-season if you're not a team owner or an OC or DC. Give Dub J's friends something fun to do during the offseason, and they'll stick around... while the owners of the teams Dub J's friends are on will still have enough time to recruit dots and tweak their AIs. Everyone's happy.

...says someone who's never had people back out of commitments at the last minute or forget to build dots.

If you START recruiting during the offseason, yes, you are doing it wrong. But shit happens, usually at the worst possible time.

but if you shorten the offseason, the attention whores that take up space in the PLFT forum would simply decide quicker.

There may be reasons to not want the offseason shortened, but recruiting should not be one of those reasons.

I personally hate the 16 day (or longer for those eliminated form the playoffs). That dead time drives people away from this game. If you need a break from coordinating, you have too many teams IMO (or you should play casual).

+1 to the original idea, but obviously some way to account for the lost training points would need to be considered.

If it wasn't for guys like Disa then many teams wouldn't have a decent coordinator to run the show... In case you haven't noticed there is a pretty good shortage of good coordinators right now so if guys didn't help multiple teams then it would be a lot worse.

My standards are higher then the average bear, allstar builds need wining and dining before they know what they might miss!

Own a Pro team and stop asking for help recruiting on one you co-own and you'll see 16 days offseason isnt even enough then. Sunder, your not the best example to counter argue here.
