But then how would you get back to the Nat Pro leagues?

We are already back to the National Pro leagues.

That season demotion thing was nonsense. Formally Protested.

This is why I have long suggested that the World League be dismantled and fed back into the National Pro Leagues (of which there should be six or eight) and instead have a World Championship Tournament on Days 41 to 45 or so using the top placing teams from National Pro.

In that way you have 8 times as many teams "at the top" and every one of them has a shot to win the Bort Cup every season, theoretically.

nothing better than a couple teams dominating a pro league and not having to care until the offseason

but hey as long as offtopica remains in regional pro, i'm all for it

''The Western Europe Pro League (WEPL) is a passionate and close league with an active forum. Rich in history and the league with the second highest level, it is one of the tougher leagues to succeed in the play-offs. Numerous activities have gone on in WEPL such as tipping competitions, fantasy football, All-Star voting, a weekly newspaper and numerous player reviews of the week ahead.''

And the activity in there is pretty poor now, maybe a sign of how the new league structure has killed off rivalries and the forum activity along with it?

WEPL is my old stomping ground, so I can talk with some authority on this.

The above quote is from a Wiki entry made in the very first few seasons of GLB, around season 3 / 4 from memory.

Using it for a comparison to recent activity is completely invalid. The difference between now and then has nothing to do with the league restructure, and very little to do with World League either.

I tried to keep WEPL going for a long time, but without a team there it's hard to have much interest there anymore

Yea, it wasn't just WL but after the first generation of dots finished their plateau the game just started to drop off in activity and competitiveness in general. Most people came seasons 1-3 built a fair amount of dots and wanted to see their initial investment all the way through. Once they finished seasons 11-14 a lot of people just called it quits. Plus, by then the difference between good and bad builds/teams was so drastic that it really made it difficult to have the sheer number of competitive teams in all pro leagues and the AAA leagues like back in the day. Things also became more inbred with networks, shared coordinators and people being buddies that forum decline was sorta inevitable.

I do miss the various active forums though. I wish glb would quit creating more and more subforums though. Not nearly enough activity for all the niche ones we have now. There's no recreating that first 10 seasons magic though.

I miss the old BBB13 league and all the old guys from there. So many good topics/trash talk and posts.

It was def part of what made the game so fun. That and how nobody knew what worked. Even though so many people complained I think weightgate was really good for the game.

Thinking back to how everyone would kill their dog to see Tea Baggins build and how he basically had a forcefield around him. Along with how Dooley and Jedi Knight and Edward Bailey tore it up every season. Vallhalla's dominance was the last time I remembered any magic to this game like that. When people still wondered and cared. Now everyone is just experimenting with PD Dline's and trying to change with the sim. You already know what's going to happen each season for the most part. The fact that so very few care about their dots until 72 or 79 are what's driving people away. Not much you can do to make the lower levels fun. Especially when you know what your dot is capable of doing once he's a higher level.

I would like to see those builds. Not really any point in keeping early generation dots a secret any longer imo.

I actually agree with you yello, the World League is killing it. The World Championship would be awesome, could be between the winners of each conference in the 8 Pro Leagues, so 16 teams
