Glad to see I'm not alone. Well, it's sad that he harasses other users but makes me feel better that it's not just me.

I think that the button should probably be removed, it just makes it too easy.

If you are in fact being banned for something, the specific infraction should be noted so you know exactly what it was and the person who reports someone should also get noted for repeated frivolous reports. I dont recall ever being reported so I dont know how that all works.

Too many things get misunderstood in printed words and people get Web Muscles way too quick. When you take things too seriously on a game like this it may be time to hang up the dots.

The people that hit the report button frequently are the worst users at this site as far as what they post and the things they PM people. I promise you 95% or more of the reports come from people that are just using the report button as an added tool to harass others.

I wish there were an easy solution to all of this, but fact is that rules aren't always 100% clear and many can be left to interpretation. (some rules need revamped, some need enforced more, some need to be taken out). At least there is an appeal process, where admins or lead mods can look into it.

I myself have made error when suspending (I rarely suspend but it does happen), all mods have.. There have been appeals won that shouldn't be. It all goes all ways, people make mistakes. ALL people.

anyway...like any other rule if this were implemented then maybe folks would think twice before reporting to report. My experience is, if someone is going to break a rule they will though lol.

tldr version: I'm okay with this suggestion, if implemented and enforced correctly.

2. Friv reports are kept track of.

If they are kept up with there has been absolutely no action taken. There are certain users that make BS reports on me every day (according to an admin and some mods) and nothing has been done about it.

that is exactly what I would like to get resolved. basically make the reporting person just as accountable as the person they are reporting. basically what would happen for example whomever reported me the other day would get a ban or warning or whatever is the next step in their suspension points. and they would have gotten that because they reported me and it turned out to be a frivalous report.

I would also like to see the Mod that initially banned me get some sort of reprimand since the ban was overturned. it is only fair to hold people making the decisions to ban someone to the same standard as the person being banned.

It's not so much the rules as it is about context. When someone reports something it's basically just a snapshot and doesn't tell the whole story. While something I post may look terrible in and of itself, you can go back 3 or 4 pages and look at what was said beforehand that precipitated my post or even if the post is serious.

true, I usually go back a few pages or at the very least a few posts because I know this happens.

While mods are getting 1000 alerts and checking into all the BS reports there are people posting some truly bad stuff and not getting reported and getting away with it. There's a thread floating around here right now where the op calls Bort a homo and has Bort fake quoted as coming out of the closet. Would you rather the mods spend all their time looking into false alarms or checking out forums so people can't just run around calling others f*****, n*****, or the like?

JC you are one of the best Mods on the site in my opinion. and I will say I do not mind accepting punishment for something I do wrong. but some Mods and even more of the childish users think getting someone banned is funny or some sort of way to childishly pay someone back for not agreeing with them or not liking a suggestion they posted. regardless the reason people should have to be accountable for their actions. since the everyday user can't findout who is reporting them or even find out what Mod banned them. there needs to be some form of accountability levied to punish them for repeated mistakes.

I know this is the internet and sometimes typed words are mistaken as to the emotion they are supposed to project. but we as a group need to make the childish users that just try to screw other users over. by getting them banned for stupid little infractions. the childishness needs to stop and GLB needs to make the users accountable for all of their actions. regardless if it is posting something wrong or repeatadly hitting the report button for no reason.

I have no problem with the vast majority of the moderators at this site. Lead mods? Now that's a different story.

I really do not have a problem with any of the Mods to be perfectly honest. my problem is the Mods not taking the time to do a little research before handing out a ban. just like the Mod that initially banned me this last time. had the Mod of read the entire thread rather than the little ship it that was reported then there never would have been a ban issued IMO. so I would like to see the person that reported the post reprimanded to the tune of whatever their suspension points warrant. and then the Mod should have to issue a apology or even get some sort of smaller punishment.

this would achieve 2 things. #1 the person reporting things would be accountable if they make false reports they then get banned. and #2 it would make the Mods take the time to do a little investigating before they handed down any punishment.

I could pretty much assure you that I would never use the report again if the mods actually were consistent in their moderation of all users.

that would def be a support issue b/c iirc too many friv reports are suspension worthy...
