I'm not sure I've ever understood the reason to have both in the same coverage checkdown. If the HB is first, then HB-direction is a moot point. If HB-direction is first...then why not just have HB-other direction as the deeper progression instead of HB.

I think it's worded wrong. I've noticed on plays last season when I have a lb cover HB strong (or just hb) than cover TE as the 2nd option, it often ignored the HB leaving him wide open.

That's what they fixed, the "cover hb" or "cover sonething else" aspect of the dpc

It appears the problem is having HB and then later HB-direction in the same progression.

I've never had any problems, but none of my progressions have ever had both HB & HB-direction in them.

That wasnt his problem. He had cover HB, that cover FB

Not

Cover HB, cover HB strong, cover FB.


Shit I should have reported that last season. It pissed me off. Glad it's fixed.
