I hope this doesn't become just another "we need player awards!" thread, because we already have that: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=1218134

I am not saying that it would be but that would be one problem that could arise from the thread you linked.

It is a service run in the WL to determine a fantasy value for every dot in the league. It is pure math and most people that work with it feel it is a better determination than the HoF of the top dot at each position.

what part of me saying it was a private forum and that not all of GLB has access to it was wrong? I completely understand what you are saying. but essentially the forum you linked isn't a forum that all of GLB can readily access is it? and while I agree that it is simple math and that most people associated with it may like it better. there is still the problem that not all of the GLB user base has access to it. so using something like the forum you link may be better. it would also open up a can of worms where some users would raise hell saying their Dots weren't given their due.

that would be a good idea if the formula works then GLB could use it to make the HoF better. and in turn would make it so that all GLB users have access to that information readily.

It isn't a private forum, it is a public forum you can add yourself to.

The information is in the WL forum on getting access, as is most of the data.

The math doesn't include o-line, IDP, or special teams individual stats. The formula is just based on stats for the WL fantasy football game and are not intended to replace anything else provided by GLB.

Also, stats are only posted for players actually picked by agents in the game, I know last season there were a few players that should have been included that were never chosen.

Contribution based on stats is easy to exploit, and are obviously at the mercy of the current sim and the tendencies of the DC/OC interactions. Winning is included as a bonus to QBs and losing is a penalty to try and negate the propensity of QBs who are playing from behind to throw the ball on every down.

Ideally QBs should be compared based on their league difficulty: WL games are at least four times more difficult than national pro league games, but does that also mean four times the value for stats? Unlikely. But obviously a HB that runs for 1,000 yards in the WL on 250 attempts should be ranked higher than a pro HB who gets 1,750 yards on a similar number of attempts. But the number of attempts is important. You can't give the award to someone who averages 75 yards per attempt on three attempts, but neither can you give it to someone who gets 2,000 yards rushing on 1,500 attempts. QBs at least have the QB rating, which I think is a fair treatment as to quality, so long as you are only comparing WL to WL.

well lets look at it like this.

1.) Do we have another way that GLB recognizes as the top players at each position other than the H.O.F?
2.) If the answer to #1 is no then that is all we have to go on for right now unless GLB would actually take the time to improve the HOF. and since it doesn't look like that is going to happen what other way do you have to get names for the pretty little gifs.
3.) GLB could copy the NFL and use the names of actual NFL players but I do not think GLB would want to do that. and besides that what does it really matter what the name on the trophy would be. as long as the player winning it was actually being recognized.

1) All Star Roster, no game or scrimmage. just to see the top performers per conference
3) Name them after dots created by Bort?
