Getting the most realistic sim engine possible is where GLB will stifle competition. Once someone else develops a comparable engine players will migrate to see if it works more the way they expect a sim to. I know I will....

Yeah, the sim needs to be accurate, and that means the game has to look like the NFL game (or maybe college ball in the minors). Same score ranges, stat ranges, etc.
The farther it is from that the more vulnerable GLB is to the competition.

They do not need to advertise at this time until they are done making big changes. Get the sim to the point that they aren't doing anything but tinkering with little things.
The average user doesn't give two shits about the sim. Take a poll and see how many people watch replays.
I know this whole no one gives a shit about the sim thing worked so well for Pick6football.

Meh, that's not really a good comparison. P6 was a game ran by a 15 year old that knew nothing about coding. There wasn't even an actual sim.

I keep reading about how someone is going to create this badass game similar to GLB and blow DD and Bort completely out of the water. GLB has been around for close to 4 years and I've yet to see anyone try to create a game comparable with GLB except P6 (and that was just a perma banned user at this site that didn't know what the hell he was doing).

The game is just to expensive..only people keeping this game going is the hardcore guys who have been here for years. Once that well drys up so will this game.

dunno man
With the free player and coordinating not costing anything seems like one can do quite a bit at this site without spending a dime.

So how does that support the game?

To address your OP Dub... I agree there should be some sort of advertising. Not just out there for the game but I believe they
should sell advertising spots here on the site. Many sites do this and it's not an issue, brings in more money to the site and
if some sort of deal can be worked with the advertiser to return the favor.... GLB could advertise on their site.
I'm not talking about things like Insurance or stuff like that.... but things that revolve around what the site is about, Football. I know
the site has it's own store (shirts and marketing stuff) but maybe they could take on an advertiser that sells the real NFL products like
FansEdge. A GLB add at the bottom of their page would be great and an add here would not really deter from the shoppers that
want GLB stuff from the site's store.
Just my $.02

What if they sold advertising and that allowed them to lower the cost of flex? If there were no pop-ups or pop-unders and no moving or changing images, the static images/Google ads type or ads would be worth it to me in return for cheaper flex (unless they had TONS of ads or something). And then they get more players, who might play if the game were less expensive. If they got enough new players, their revenue from flex might not even decrease.
