Again the range (or however else you want to define it to deflect your ignorance) is unchanged.. the oberons of Nat pro continue to get destroyed by same point differentials.. the only thing that has changed is that Nat pro has had several waves of old rebuild teams (teams that restarted with new building process and/or archetypes) finally reach end game and pushed a lot of the guts out of Nat Pro. It has nothing to do with anything Bort has done.. well unless you consider his buff to CPU dots..
Been, you keep ignoring the fact that this is happening ACROSS THE ENTIRE SPECTRUM OF GLB. Just like its not all about how much I suck, its also not all about how much OPL sucks.
When Bort nerfed the AEQ stack, it leveled the playing field to some extent. When he gave everyone bonus Skill Points, , it leveled the playing field to some extent. When he let everyone boost three extra levels towards 79, it leveled the playing field to some extent. Intentionally or not all of those moves allowed the guys who were a couple steps behind to close the gap on the elite builds and teams.
Its ludicrous to think that had no effect on the game, and its even sillier to see that effect in the term of an overnight closing up of the score differences and pretend that that was caused by anything other than those changes.
Might be that Bort did more behind the scenes as well. Might be that the effect you are mentioned ALSO had a hand. But the mechanics of the game make it clear that giving a hand up to the bottom and nerfing the top is going to make the bottom and top closer. And thats what happened.

So while that may be good for the delusional few like yourself who are happy about more close games it does not change the fact that those teams still have no chance at a title. The overwhelming majority who play this game want a shot at the title and that just isn't happening.
Well, yes and no. SOME of those teams that were a step away from contending will have gotten close enough to have a shot now. But no it doesn't make the game an IROC race with everyone driving the same governed engined cars, no.
But as I have said before, that was never my desire nor intent and NEVER what I have been talking about with you.
Its what YOU want to talk about, but its not been my complaint. When I complained about the big goofy scores and stats it was complaining JUST about those scores and stats, and only because they were in and of themselves stupid. It was never about making the 0 in the 100-0 game a winner. It was about making the 0 lose 28 to 0 or some other NFL realistic looking number instead.
I'm going to post that sentence again. Read it. Its the ONLY point I have ever had here.
It was never about making the 0 in the 100-0 game a winner. It was about making the 0 lose 28 to 0 or some other NFL realistic looking number instead.

Again look at Ruger/Oberon, he could give a shit about more close games... he just wants to be in a situation where he has a shot at a title.. he has made that very clear. It is very relevant to the reality of what most want out of this game and your delusions of what it should be.
That as may be, but without question there are also people who see a 200-0 score and think this game sucks and walk away purely because of that stupid azzed score.
I have been a player on teams where the owner sold the team the day after a score like that, and quit the game. And its understandable. A score like that means the game is disconnected from real football, not a simulation at all. And it can make someone conclude they can never compete they must suck ALOT and they may as well go play something else because they can never win.
Whereas a 20-0 score can make them think they still have a shot and it would seem more realistic and make them feel like they are in a football simulation. Thats good for player retention.
Thats always been my interest in our discussions.
Not that your desire about improving competition is a bad desire. But its just not what you and I have been talking about. Or at least its not what I am talking about.
The fact that we are talking about two different things is probably why it seems like you never get what I am saying. Take the time to understand it and maybe we can put this puppy to bed.
