Yeah, my first 12 or so seasons I played I always retired my dots when they hit lvl 40 because I would become bored with them. That was when I had absolutely -0- cares about the higher leagues. While I'm still not overly concerned with Pro/WL I do have a bit more interest now.

Not sure what to think about this. Kind of confused now, being that we are in the suggestions forum.

You've got me there.
Better yet, if you don't care to watch replays what does it matter if the few points in a VA makes a difference in how your dot plays? You won't know since you don't watch him.
I watch my players and the games. I guess the excitement of not being able to change or improve a player is just gone.
I also GM 2 teams.

Question, what keeps you wanting to create new dots after you retire others? How much different is the experience, I guess is my question?

It's not just dealing with it because this is still Beta I believe Bort still wants suggestions to move on to the final product otherwise this forum wouldn't exist. I'm just making a suggestion to see what everyone thinks. If no one agrees then fine. If you don't ask you'll never know.

Picking a different position or prototype player. I have scattered my players out to some degree so that I am always building at least one player while watching the others.

I see, how many different positions have you been able to retire?

I'll cut you some slack since you're new here.
The op's suggestion is basically a very slippery slope. Player's were originally intended to be force retired after 11 seasons. Some people raised hell in the forums thinking they should be able to keep their players forever. Obviously that is a terrible idea since it would discourage new users from sticking around. Since then careers have been stretched out well beyond that. Now players max level is considerably higher than it once was as well.
The op would basically result in giving another inch when it comes to when to try to coax a player into retirement. Bort allows us to add VPs and before you know it people are going to want a few more seasons out of their dots. After a while there would be a tremendous and harmful amount of stagnation in the higher leagues. There would be a ton of high level dots that would not find teams because the same dots would be sitting on the same rosters for many seasons.

You can build differently and sign with different teams than you was with because you are now in a new age bracket. Not only that, but with this game constantly changing it is almost a necessity.

Actually, this is said much better than I would have.

Players age quicker and gain experience quicker so their playing life is shorter.

Skills decrease with age, abilities don't in GLB. Plus why do the Vet pts begin again after the extended plateau ends?

No, I was stating that I typically retired my players around lvl 40 until I had been around here for 12 or so seasons.

Not shorter really just that they reach the plateau quicker.
