I always wondered listening to their music, what EXACTLY made those songs so perfect. in an issue of canadian musician a while back, chad stated that his method for writing songs was to analyze all these top 10 hits over twenty years and figure out what made them hits...was it the guitar riff in the chorus? the yeahs yeahs? and then he copied them for instant commercial success! clearly the man is a genius, but he comes off very bitter that despite the record sales, critics hate him. his arguement always seems to be "yeah? if my record sucks so bad, then how come 8 million people bought it? huh?". It's funny how all these local bands think they are being unique in their song writing, when really, the reason no one likes their band mainstream wise (what really matters), is because they are not following the correct format. You shouldn't start a band and complain about fame if your not following the correct format.

top 10 hits are hits for a reason.

>>>implying the masses aren't retarded.

also now i get it.

well, from what I remember (i'm 25), Nirvana was too bad in their reputation. They were just druggys. they shouldn't get the fame they deserve because drugs are not the answer to any kind of fame.
Pearl Jam was the founding fathers of grunge, because they proved that normal people rock harder then indie rock guys, who are really just trying to hold on to their high school adolescent past.
If you talk to any fire fighther, policemen, sales person (or any respectful human being), they all listen to stuff like Nickelback, because it follows the correct formula...kind of like human beings must do in order to be happy and succesful. (hence, kurt cobang shot himself.)

You could be drastically underestimating the horror of waking up next to Courtney Love.

well I should've figured I wouldn't be taken serious here.....I listen to many different types of music. I spent my life working for chain music stores. ( i even played in a punk band back in the day...). But I realized what you need to become famous. and I realize why the MAJORITY of people like this stuff. because peoples mind WANT to follow a formula.

Who's dick do you gets sucked more? Ben Gibbardor Nickebacks? you do the math morons.
I"M finisehd with the carep
