But that's not what he said. What he said was, “Did I want it to escalate into that? Absolutely not. At a point he snapped and he started throwing blows. The only thing that upsets me . . . is if you reverse that and it’s me I have a game suspension.”

Now that might be seen as a little bit whiney, but it's not whiney toward Johnson, it's whiney toward the authorities. Who probably would have given him a suspension, due to his poor track record.

But I still haven't seen him say anything anywhere whining about the beatdown he got. Your original statement was "don't cry foul when you get the result you were angling for" and I have yet to see any evidence of that.

When I played in college there was a throw down worse than that every week in practice.

Dudes fight and then squash it.

during preseason workouts one of my friends and a team captain for us got in a fight with a guy because he wouldn't fight an OLineman who kept punking him

Did you guys ever do a practice/scrimmage with another school? I think about 10 fights broke out each year when we did that. We had an all out brawl my freshman year when one of our DE's lit up the other teams QB on an option play.
