There has got to be someway they can add "in game" adjustments to the AI if a team is going to run it 70 times. That or make the repeat play penalty apply to the same "type" play as opposed to just the same "exact" play, ie. strong side sweep, off tackle, slam etc.
But those runs up the middle can be stopped from gameplanning. There is a reason you can adjust the DPC, and use it to your advantage. If a team runs 70 times a game, with 50 being inside, stack your box. The good teams will then throw you off and pass, and yes, the good teams will have success.
Just using an example from your team Stoner, http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=1494585 , you ran 11 times, and passed 26. Now given you only had 37 plays, 70% of your plays were pass.
Example: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=301128011 66% of the plays were passes, and all 16 first downs were from Passing. In return, they came out with 24 rushing attempts, 13 yards. Similar to your 11 rushes, 13 yards.
Balance is the key, and no team throws 70% consistently and is successful. Passing opens up the run.
