There is no logic behind it, Perkis was also placed in Zeta when they got fdemoted, at least Korb ended up in the right Conference.

I think they do that so a new team can go to the World League, if they separated them then there is a chance both go back next season. At least this way one has to wait and extra season before they head back.

I think you give the devs too much credit for thinking things out, they just set things up haphazardly, throw the code up in the air, turn on the light switch on, and whereever everything falls, thats where it goes.

Yep, exactly. Except in that case they throw money up in the air, and special interest groups are allowed to use nets to catch the money before it hits the ground.
