personally, i starting rethinking how to build them as soon as archetypes came out... there was big discussion in LHF's CB PF about how the heck CBs are supposed to counter WRs of the future which will probably range from WRs with 160+ speed to WRs with 90+ catching and jumping to WRs with 90+ strength... its for sure gonna be tricky.

I agree. I intended to go a different route with him when I created him, but teams folding and trying to fit in on other squads who's build advice I took led him to where he is now. I was really just experimenting with pumping all the attributes that aided in faking, but got cut short.

This thread is great! Thanks hoyaboy. I know I'm a little late on this thread but I just noticed this post.

Here's my version of the same build, more or less, but topping out 30 levels less!

From watching his play and his results, here is what I can add to this topic.

What worked
- From his fourth season on (he was slow built), he had a 93% catch rate (based on passes thrown that he was able to catch – does not include PD’s, INT’s, throw-aways, etc.)
- His target to catch rate was obviously less, I’d guess around 70-80%. Mostly deflections and poor throws. Very little knocked loose.
- Like hoyaboy’s, if you could get him on a team where the OC knows how to utilize a possession guy, he was money. Even when double/triple covered, there was a very good chance he’d come up with the catch.

What didn’t work
- Like hoyaboy’s, besides a decent OC, the main issue was getting him open. He is slow as molasses.
- Jump Catch. As a 6’4” receiver with 65+ jumping, Jump Catch fired zero times in the two seasons he had it.
- Low passes – almost all of his “dropped” passes where balls thrown low.

The one main thing that would skew my results vs. someone else: Slow built and non-boosting.
The one main word of advice I could give aspiring possession receiver agents: Find a good OC who knows how to use possession guys. Having him running streaks is a complete waste of time for both the OC and the agent.

Question I have regarding those catch rolls. How important is STR in them?

I don't think strength has too much to do with it. I had very little catches knocked loose. I just took strength to 40 to get Nerves of Steel.
