We have the highest SoS in gold, look who we got in week 1. Any silver team DC who wants to prove their weight in Gold PM me, I'll find you a spot on my team or another one. Gold is no joke, not discrediting any silver team, but there are silver teams ranked higher than gold teams that would get crushed in Gold, that's a fact and an issue with the script. But still not to take anything away, it is a great script and I do appreciate it.

Some interesting statistics of the rankings to aid discussion:

League records in scrims with other leagues, by winning percentage:
Gold 64-29
Slvr1 28-15
Slvr4 19-17
Slvr3 29-32
Slvr7 17-22
Slvr8 8-17
Slvr5 8-21
Slvr6 8-22
Slvr2 2-8

Some basic analysis on where the 1st, last, 8th, 16th and 17th place are in the league (It's not exactly the playoff cutoff due to conference vs league effect, but it's not a bad estimator)
Gold: High: 1 Low: 235 8th: 22 16th: 47 17th: 50
Slvr1: High: 2 Low: 266 8th: 67 16th: 141 17th: 147
Slvr2: High: 20 Low: 287 8th: 87 16th: 148 17th: 157
Slvr3: High: 11 Low: 285 8th: 89 16th: 139 17th: 156
Slvr4: High: 4 Low: 288 8th: 82 16th: 164 17th: 165
Slvr5: High: 13 Low: 277 8th: 83 16th: 150 17th: 153
Slvr6: High: 18 Low: 283 8th: 80 16th: 127 17th: 174
Slvr7: High: 10 Low: 272 8th: 63 16th: 162 17th: 168
Slvr8: High: 16 Low: 284 8th: 60 16th: 158 17th: 170

Gold is clearly outranking the Silver leagues without any weighting built into the formula, but it doesn't really cover the bottom ends very well. But it does indicate that home playoff game in Silver is "easier" than even reaching playoffs in Gold.

The fact that S7 has obviously done pretty good in scrimmages this season (the number of S7 teams towards the top 50 is relatively high compared to what I had expected) only furthers my believe that there are 4-5 teams that (they may not be the most deserving silver teams as far as should be welcomed into gold) would do well in Gold currently resting in S7.

Who Dot is 4-1 vs Gold, but only one of those 4 are in the top 25

this is so true...its the depth in the silver conferences which makes them non-elite...the top tier silver teams are usually gold caliber, but the lower playoff teams in silver are usually teams that would struggle to win a lolcopper league

Umm? Where was I trolling? Your the one that mentioned something that happened apparently a long time ago and are clearly trying to start some sort of e-fight. I have no clue or care who you are so lolfail but nice try.

Sorry, Ping. Not intended as a stab. You guys are a great team, as everyone knows -- certainly worth of Gold. I think that in itself is proof about how tough Gold is and that the teams there each season are good even if their record is .500.

I know it's nothing personal, I was just playing.

I can at least take solace in knowing the teams that always beat me typically do well in Gold: Bears, D-Tit, Crackertown all doing well this year. GA did well it's first few years but fell of this season, as did the Strain (but has been down for a few seasons). Even the Headhunters (8-8) and the Fightin' Fuzz (9-7) held their own in their only season up there.

Should be fun to see who gets their chance next year: Crib, Montpelier, NOWD, FT, DVD, etc.

Just remember if you win, it's only because you boosted a few guys.

Come on, we would have killed you guys in a fair game, but I didn't have the flex to boost.

Thanks for the time spent on the list, but it's just that -- a list that is fun to read. There is a thread every year about the silver/gold teams. The fact is that probably 80-90% of the teams in Gold would be in the top 35 or so in reality. The teams are just that much better, and it shows every season. Heck, just use a team that comes up in this discussion practically every season since the Gold inception -- Final Thought. Every season they are supposed to be the best, but where are they at? They're still in Silver.

Here's an example. Outer Banks Bootie Tappers are ranked #7. Wambulance is ranked #50. Here's the game: http://goallineblitz.com/game/game.pl?game_id=1182010 The only OB touchdowns came on special teams which is stupid this season as everyone knows.

Please don't take this the wrong way. I enjoy seeing the rankings and most of the sensible discussions that come from it. It's good for PeeWee that so many Silver teams can see credit coming their way. It will help PeeWee continue to grow. I just don't want to see more thread where there is a bunch of arguing about how someone really believes that a 13-2 Silver team is better than say our beloved #107 DSBM. Rankings just don't work that way as you pointed out in your post. Thanks again. Great work!

good speach!

+1

The main flaw in the system that I see is teams who haven't scrimmed a lot reaping the benefits of the rest of their league scrimming a lot. Teams like Dabo and Cribs in silver while solid teams, don't deserve to be that high based on 1 or 2 wins outside of their league but seem to be getting a great boost due to the rest of their league scrimming like crazy.

No wonder I feel like committing GLB suicide sometimes.... my team has played:
#1, #2 twice, #5, #6, #11, #14, #15, #17, #22 twice, and #23 in the Top 25.
