I care about the W and keeping my QB safe. If my RT gives up 0 sacks and 0 hurries. Its a good day.

Can someone tell me if the build for my Center Lvl 8 is good, bad, ok??
And wat do I need to work on?

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=506251

the center is like the "BOSS" of the o-line so u have to work block and str together, ur build just looks like one of those, "OH MY GOD I WANT TO PANCAKE".

and do u realise strength is the most important attribute 4 all O Linemen?

str is important but id say blocking is equal important, o-line=blockers

From my understanding the LOT will want high blocking, agility, vision and stength. In order to engage that fast agile DE you also need some agility and vision to adjust off the line.

Prototypical LOT, IMO lol. Wow that was a lot of acronyms in one sentence.

Block helps you hold a line, which is good for pass blocking.
Strength helps you open holes, which is good for run blocking.

Strength should also help in not getting pushed around in pass blocking, high blocking is worthless without the strength to back it up

I think we can all agree that pancakes are not the best indication of a good lineman. Obviously allowing no sacks or hurries are two much more important stats, but I think we forget what I like to call tackles-for-losses allowed. A TFL is almost as bad as a sack. Loss of yardage + loss of confidence for a key player- your RB. All this to say, too bad there is no stat tracker for all three of these stats. That is what being a lineman is all about.

i am currently building a center and i will put a bit more emphasis on strenght (60/50 ~lvl 9). i just think that strenght will be more helpful for keeping those nasty nt's away from my qb.

++ All three should be stat lines for O-line. Much, much better indicator of skill than pancakes.

I feel sorry for your RB is that all you care about is keeping you QB safe. Run blocking is huge and taking a player out and then moving to help the TE or G on him block opens up hole big enough to drive a truck through.

And how can a pancake not be valuable on Pass blocking. If I know the shit out of the guy he goes down I can pick up a blitzing LB or help the Guard with the DT/NT or the tackle with the DE.

By pancaking a D player you free yourself up to provide better protection. I think pancakes are very important.

You're going to run someone over while moving backwards? Impressive

It's not that pancakes are unimportant. It's more the annoying fact that people are like, omgomgomg, I got 50 pancakes last game, I AM TEH BEST when in reality they got 50 pancakes and gave up 3 sacks. Pancakes are definitely valuable, just not as big a deal as people try to make them out to be.

pancake is mostly dependent on how shitty the NT you are stacked up against is

Strength > blocking

I think that just says Strength + Blocking = Win, not necessarily one > the other.

this guys right on.^^^^^^^^^^^^

Blocking is the skill that keeps your guy between the QB and the defender(no sacks)
Strength is the skill that helps you pimp slap the defender out of the way to make holes(HB runs free)
