Do you have a link to that Sean? I have seen rumors, but the only time anyone could actually find Bort quotes, it was stated that the playoff sim is exactly the same as the regular season. Would love to see some Bort quotes where he says it is different.

I don't keep links but someone has a bort tracker thread somewhere. You can probably post in main and find it.

sean is right i've seen it too, but cant remember where! I believe i first saw it just about halfway through last season!

I don't think its drastic, but just enough of a tweak to have a few odd occurences. Before VAs were around you saw more freak occurences, and with the nerfing of motiv. speaker, its a bit more apparent.

What a great game we play for, no? Something that is fairly important may or may not have been said by the developer, and yet only 40 days later, there is no official place to find it? I feel like I am playing football at times where the referees blow the whistle and call penalties, but don't tell you what it was for or why you gained or lost yards.

no, no, and NO. Bort has said emphatically that the sim is exactly the same in the playoffs. The only reason why confidence might be more important in the playoffs is because confidence is more important in close matchups and you're more likely to have a close match up in the playoffs than in the regular season.

I think there may be some great ideas related to drifter's excellent rivalry points idea that might help push some of those things forward. A big rival may make both teams play better, for instance.

I think the fact that "every" sim is the same is lame. Preseason is the same as a champ game, 100%. At least we are getting some more VAs...........

Well the post where I saw bort say confidence counted more in the playoffs was probably back in season 7.. maybe hes changed it since then? I know I saw it though.

No. I'm telling you that you misread a long time ago. Bort has never said that. What you misread, or maybe rather misinterpreted, was him saying that you're more likely to play closer games where confidence might be important in the playoffs. He never ever said anything about the sim being different in the playoffs and has over and over again denied this claim. I can't find the exact quote that you're talking about, but I know exactly what it was, and many people read it wrong.

Maybe he was drunk when he posted what I saw lol. What I remember him saying is that morale penalties could have more of an effect in post-season games, so confidence was more important, which really does explain a lot.
