Some of our dots are still very good, but the roster is nowhere near it's previous strength; partly from decline and partly from little attention to recruiting this offseason. Heck, I think only one player not on our last seasons roster was actually recruited - most were swapped for Yaksmen players to beef up other rosters. Some of our players got World League invites and, given that we were closing up shop on active game planning (announced to the team before contract extensions went out), I think they made the right choice in taking them.

I'm not trying to excuse us from not being good enough. I know we won't be. I hope that we'll be just competitive enough to not ruin the fun of everyone else.

I think if our team from last season were here, we would have been in much better shape. Will never really know, but I'll look to how Queensland does as a proxy. I think they were a better team than us, but we weren't too far behind and could certainly give them all they could handle. If they tear up this league, I'll be happy for them and sad that we got here a season too late.
