I already gave my recommendation and reasoning in a previous post. In fact, it's the one you responded to. If you go 68/68/73, you can get to 95/95+ by the time you are leveled up enough to play in Pro/WL. That is plenty of speed and agility to be a shutdown corner there. Assuming you went 77/77/77 with that build, you spent about an extra 100 sps over someone who goes 68/68/73. Those sps will be huge down the road when you are trying to round out your build. If you plan to make a man corner, you will never get the SAs and secondary attributes you need to be an elite corner at the top levels of the game.

If you are planning to get him into a zone scheme, I can understand going higher in the primaries, but not to 77/77/77. It's still just too many sps to spend for so little gain.

hell of a build. We might be interested in bringing him to Hub City next season when one of our higher level CBs plans on leaving.

So what do you think a final build should look like?

After you take SPD/AGI to lowly levels of 68, and vision to 73, Where to you want:

JMP
STR
TKL
SAs

to end up?

Speed and agility around 95, vision close to 80+the FG bonus, jumping 70+, strength 55-60, tackle 40-48, confidence and stamina both capped, catching 48-60 if you want to go that route, SAs: 10+-X-10+-X-15/3-6. Hopefully add some +PD% AEQ in there too.

To compare, here's where YMIV will be at level 49:

Level 49 CB

Attributes
Physical ..... Football
Str:32.02.....Blk 8
Spd:92.88 (+15).....Tkl 30.02
Agi:93.88 (+20).....Thr 8
Jmp:68.88.....Cat 51.88
Stm:30.88.....Car X
Vis:73.88.....Kic 8
Con:27.02.....Pun 8

Special Abilities
Shutdown Corner Abilities Swat :2, Stick:3, Super:9, Smoot:3, Shutd:7
Speedster Abilities First:0, Chang:0, Retur:0, Blitz:0, Closi:0

Veterans Abilities (0 VP)
Ball :15, FG:15, TDS: 5

Is three more speed and two more agility really worth less jumping, strength, catching, tackling, and SAs?

^^^ just fyi if I were to sign that CB the first thing I'd want you to do is get Agi up to the 5th cap and redistribute EQ.

Why do you like SAs so much anyways? Rather have 95 spd 105 agi than 95 spd 95 agi and 6/3 FS/CD tbh.

When your Speed/Agility/Vision is all higher, you need less SAs.....

I tend to think there's more than one way to build a successful CB.

No need to defend yourself. It's better to do something on your own and fail then follow and be another number.

You can go a lot higher then 73/73/73 and have plenty of skill points for everything, believe me.

this would be true if attributes held the same weight as SAs like SDC, SV, SB, and CD... but they dont. you of course need attributes for those SAs to be successful, but there is a point that SAs and secondaries are a better investment for the same product. going 77 on any attribute is beyond that point.

this^^^^ ...personally i prefer speed/agility equal in equipment, and if you do take 1 attribute higher i suggest vision

Because CB SAs are awesome. If you can keep up with a WR at 95/95 spd/agi and 95 agility is enough for the few rolls that it plays a role in, then you should start investing in other attributes that help other rolls--the anti-fake roll, the PD roll, and the INT roll. SV helps prevent fakes and read plays, SB really helps the PD score, SDC helps speed, agility, and the PD score, and CD helps make cuts regardless of how much agility you have. I've run tests and CBs with higher agility and lower CD consistently lose more speed than CBs with lower agility and higher CD. I don't know that there is a position in the game that has a better combination of SAs than CBs do.

I can tell you I've seen a lot of builds from the best CBs in the game who played at the highest levels and one thing they had consistently in common was lots of SAs. They also rarely had higher than 95/95 spd/agi.

Actually, that would be a waste of money in this game.
