with Krungthep taking our Superwok last season, we exacted some revenge in the WL as we were in the same conference... so weve grown into rivals... tbh, the Garudas are really fun to play. They always have a solit roster, you better bring your A game cuz they always gameplan well, and they bring the wood so if you want to measure where you are in the grand scheme of things, schedule a scrim with these dudes. if you can best them, youve got one of the better teams in GLB...
LSP won garuda conference last season. That alone puts a target on their back... I can see the LSP/Buffalo rivalry blossoming this season... LSP is a fricken SEAPL institution. In order for us to put our stamp on this league's history books, we gotta go thru LSP...
there are really only 4 teams in garuda.
Buffalo
Krungthep
LSP
and BKK...
the rest are all just backround noise.
Well i guess that makes Bangalore just back round noise this season. You heard the man. Nothing to see here move along.

Tibet has gone back and forth over the past couple seasons with Shadow Lake. We have only played the Hustlers once, but it was a knock down, drag out affair. The three of us were neck and neck all last season.
I'm also looking forward to renewing old rivalries with the Drunken Monks, Dirty Penguins and Mountain Men.

Not speaking for MontanaRuled or the rest of the team, but for the Beijing Black Dragons I will say our top 5 rivalries are (in no particular order and I know we are not in this league right now, but playing here for 3 seasons counts, right?):
Surabaya Heroes -- Played them since S4, except in S5, until they went younger. The series was very evenly matched where at the end Black Dragons came out ahead by 1-2 games. I know both teams circled their calendars when we met. At first it was personal, but after that first season it became a friendly competition where we enjoyed playing against each other. Lots of close results made it an intense rivalry.
Singapore Buddhists -- Same with Surabaya, had been around since S4 until going younger, but they were tops in about every season they played until they were promoted ahead of us towards their end when they reached Pro. Another series where it about evenly matched and, iirc, they might have beat us in the overall series. When we did not play against each other in the regular season due to different leveled leagues, we always had a scrim against them.
Arrowhead Fanatics -- Ever since losing to these guys in the S4 league finals, we played against each other EVERY season even in scrimmages. A great group led by quinnqn2 and wish them the best in their "new" league (meaning though they are in Canadian league now, they are, in my mind and forever are SEA) as they have reached Pros this coming season.
Palembang Drunken Monks -- Ah! When we first played them they creamed us as a welcome "hello" to AA after our promotion! Lost to them some more then the tide finally swung our way until the end where anything goes. I had a player that was in their "sister/network" team and had a great time with them. Not sure what was the final series record, but I think it came about even, give or take 1. For me, kick some serious ass this season and graduate to WL!
Portland Dirty Penguins (as a Carolina Panther fan, dubbed them Dirty Birds
) -- A great group to play against in this meta. Texan is a great guy and although we did not play against each other as much versus other the other teams we faced, we have a lot of respect for you guys. Another loss of memory what was the final record, but I think PDP were ahead. GL to you guys as well where I will root for you guys to WL for S15.
Strange post for someone who does not post much at all in these forums, but figured why not put my two cents in and wish SEA Pro the very best this coming season and represent the region well for the following season in WL (for this season in WL, GO KICK SOME SERIOUS ASS ESL!!! You guys deserve it
). Definitely a fun league to be in and will say Naga >>>> Garuda (sorry, trying not to be biased
). Have a great S14 Pro league!

Well Texan and Lagomorph about sum up the Monks as far as true rivals. We've had none better or longer than the Penguins and Black Dragons. CMM has been a pretty good foe for us too. And Mongolian Horde.
When the Monks cruised thru AA in Season 5 after falling short to good teams the 2 seasons before, we came to a AAA division for S6 that had PDP, Samed Accomplishers (when they were still good), Mongolian Horde (when they game planned), PDD, P-Funk, the Garudas, and Tungduchon. We weren't sure how we'd do. Gotta admit, it's the only time we've been intimidated in this game. We figured we'd played a lot of scrubs in AA besides our old rivals you remember, Kamakura Katanas & a few others. We never beat the Katanas but we played them tougher than any team as they spanked the shit out of most.
So we were prepared for the worst in AAA with some of those outstanding teams. Well, we did what we do. We beat most of the teams around our level, all the ones we were supposed to beat, and we lost to PDP by 2, Samed by 2, Horde by 4, PDD by 3, and P-Funk by 3. Only the Garudas handled us but we figured they'd smoke us, they won 34-21. So it came down to Tungduchon who we had as another superior team to us. We had to win to make the playoffs, they were already in. And we won in an epic battle, 41-34. That put our playoff streak at 4 seasons and it is currently at 10.
So that was the point at which we said, shit, we can play this game a little. And we've just stuck around and enjoyed the comp and playing against some great teams.
We also had a lopsided battle in AA & AAA with a team called the Montville Mustangs. Our players could not stand them and beating them was always a top priority. We respected them, they were a good team. But their owner always bitched b/c other owners ranked us over them whenever there was a vote. He didn't bitch about anyone else. They'd mow thru cupcakes while we barely beat some of the better teams and he was thinking they'd kill us. Never happened. I think it was 0-7 for the series. We had some real good games though. They just always lost to us. This made us very happy.

Bali:
Bacold (for many seasons we went tit-for-tat exchanging wins);
BKK (that 3-0 playoff win will always remain one of our best games.)
Other than that, many other teams folded. I always liked beating Stucknut. The Headhunters always had a good squad who seemed to get the best of us more times than naught. Nagasaki Rage was always fun because they had a great passing game compared to the competition. Kathmandu was a worthy opponent and Beaver is keeping them alive in lower SEA. The Ack Attack appeared to be headed for greatness as they had a solid core of good, young players, but for some reason they didn't stay together.

Bacolod -
Has to be Bali - always took turns defeating each other, then they got a few seasons on us (and a AA conference title match), we got them last season, but I am pretty sure they have a game or 2 overall on us.
BKK - Used to be our biggest rival until moved to Garuda, they got us in an A title game way back, had many back and forth wins/losses vs. them, they have had our number in AAA and pro though.
Ujung - Sad to see them gone, we were a pain in their ass in AAA, always very tight high scoring games, but again they had our number in the pros.
Bejing -hoping to start something with these guys, had a late season upset over them to help knock them out of the playoffs in seas.12, had a tight loss to them in seas. 11, they schooled us season 13.

these are the warlords' biggest "rivalries":
1. South Austin Bats- longest-standing rivalry, pretty evenly matched, lots of mutual respect, was sad to see them go
2. LSP- our most one-sided rivalry; our only wins against them are during the regular season and they always had our number in the playoffs
3. Sumatra Sting- short-lived rivalry; always played close, competitive games; sad to see them go as well
of course, we've had fun, memorable games against the flames, semarang and the tweetys too

We have had fun with Winona, but you can't really call them a historic rival as we only ever played them twice for real and won both, so it's nothing personal. We'll see what happens with your new labatt smurfs of the apocalypse team.
