Are you fucking retarded? Can you read? The OP asks for strength/carry for an ELUSIVE back, not a combo or power. Since when do elusive backs need to break tackles? You're a fucking moron and prove it with each post you make.

All HBs need high Carrying. 73+. That is my point.

Is he an elusive back?

He's a combo back. But that is irrelevant. Here are the 3 main reasons to have high carrying for any HB:

1. Avoid Fumbling

2. Help break tackles (Power & Combo)
2. Make SAs HF, Juke trigger more often (Combo & Elusive)

This means ALL HBs need High carrying IMHO.

The point I'm trying to make that no one seems to understand is, no matter what kind of HB you build, Power, Combo, or Elusive, they should all have at 73+ Carrying.

Ah, history. I actually rolled with heavy strength until the season 4 nerf when I started shouting that PB's needed speed. From what I remember most people argued with me. Slowly I started working my gear over to speed, up to the point that where ATO was when I retired him. HORRIBLE build compared to my HB's now, but we didn't know squat when we were building then. So know that his build changed a LOT over the course of his career, and he was actually breaking the most tackles with high speed and moderate strength.

FWIW we did a test with ATO and Vin to check the carrying > strength idea, and strength was waaaay better in breaking tackles. So I'm not parroting this stuff out, just trying to help from what I've found. I'm mostly in agreement with what taurran is currently suggesting for PB builds right now.

tl;dr

If you were to rebuild, would you agree? Are you taking carry to ~74 on your younger HBs?

I build power/combos, but I've stopped at 70 with ATOII, so it'll probably end around 72-74. I never really found any real ROI over 70ish.

I don't buy that it's possible for elusive to take speed, carrying, and agility all to 77 and still max elusive tree and second cap vision.

90 career fumbles
46 Lost....

At level 70 my back will probably never fumble.

Well first off you don't need to 2nd cap vision.

Second you don't need to max the elusive tree either.

Third, I'm p sure all of what you said is possible, but your stamina/conf will suffer.

as long as an elusive back has 68 capped carry and 9 in spin and a break tackle AEQ he can work fine. My HB is working fine with only 100 speed and 90 Agility. First cap STR and 68 carry with the 9 spin works fine. get sp and agl to 110/90 and carry to 68 and you will be fine.

OK, lets compare:

Yours
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=47042

1st 7 season totals:
Yards: 15,294
TDs: 214
YPG: 136.5
YPC: 6.7
BrTk: 407

Mine
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1263857

1st 7 season totals:
Yards: 16,099.5
TDs: 360
YPG: 156.3
YPC: 9.6
BrTk: 827

As you can see he blows DMP out of the water in every stat that counts. Numbers don't lie. Also, last season his numbers were mostly from 255 blowouts so those don't count. He did pretty bad in games that he lost.

Edit: added broken tackles.

I could give a flying fuck either way, but why not get into this pissing contest for shits and giggles. Here's what I see:

Blowout Adjusted: (since they've been available)

Mr. President
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1263857&playoffs=0&stat_type=adjusted

Yards: 3060
Yds/Carry: 6.6
Yds/Catch: 10
Rushing TDs: 68
Receiving TDs: 1
Total TDS: 69
Fumbles: 4
Fumbles Lost: 4

DMP
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=47042&playoffs=0&stat_type=adjusted

Yards: 3234
Yds/Carry: 7.8
Yds/Catch: 13.8
Rushing TDs: 62
Receiving TDs: 5
Total TDs: 67
Fumbles: 5
Fumbles Lost: 2

I excluded broken tackles, due to the fact we can't see blowout adjusted broken tackle numbers and it is like comparing apples to oranges. Power vs. Elusive

Personally, I see fairly comparable stats considering they are two different types of HBs. No one is blowing anyone out of the water.

edit: added fumbles
