No offense to the GLB vets and long time posters here but I guess I had a different idea of what CPL would be like. In all honesty it's too much hassle looking for something worthwhile to read and post about with all of the random clowning that goes on.....don't get me wrong, there's some funny shit in here but it's too much of a hassle to find the dotball talk mixed in with the rest of the junk....reminds me of the main forums tbh.

Arrowhead just came straight over from SEA Pro and the difference is like night and day. Over there, they're crowding each other to comment on somebody's previous comment. Here, people pretty much keep to themselves.

It's funny I think the last few seasons when new teams began to jump into CPL, lots of new teams either were just flat out intimidated by how the forums were or just wanted to talk dots and get away from what the forums were like then. There was certainly a group (even myself included) that wanted to see some change and not have every thread get trolled on by the "vets" of the CPL forums at the time.

Unfortunately, the change desired was a bit too drastic and you now have a lot of the CPL teams that started during that time not caring so much for the CPL forums nowadays since they never did in the first place which is a shame.

There is a good group here and I'm familiar with many of you from the AAA1 forums so hopefully things will turn around, BUT you can't just expect others to create that life..... just do it.

Hey, I resemble that comment.

We tried to co-exist with the dump-taking crowd but that was difficult as they wanted the dump-taking to go on in all threads. There were a few moderators (mainly deathtroll and whotookmybowtie) that were shitting all over those of us trying to post dotty stuff while at the the same time saying there was no bias against dotty talk. It is a losing battle when the mods are opposed to you and cry to other mods to come and ban you when you say what a fucked up situation it is in public.

So, we went to the admins and got the separation after a few months of badgering them. It was fine for a season or two and now has just died so I don't really care any more. They should probably re-merge the two forums and let it become a mini-FFA again. At least then someone will enjoy. No one enjoys this thing anymore.

I care... I'm in here every time I sign on hoping someone's going to post something worthwhile.
I used to do it... but that was during vacation, when recruiting was done, and before AI.
If someone with more time than me would do I'd definately contribute... just too selfish and work driven to keep a big column up that's worthwhile.

The sort of posts that CPL became famous for weren't really the stuff I'd find much interest in, to be honest, but I'd gladly take trolling and general mayhem over censorship any day.

This game is much too heavy-handed when it comes to policing what can and cannot be discussed on the forums. Pallow's thinly veiled threat of a "long-term vacation" for anyone who "pushes the rules" is a great example. What exactly constitutes a "game related topic"? Who gets to make that judgment call? (The threat in itself is actually pretty insulting, and makes me wonder just how much they value the business of their paying customers.)

Frankly, this CPL forum in its current state doesn't seem to be much good for anyone. Hopefully, that will change. If it does, it'll be because the people/agents who make up the league decide to change it, and not because some heavy-handed, power-tripping mods or admins orchestrate it.

this is exactly what we need.
All it takes is one person to dedicate a little time.
