I'm not meaning to call you out on that number because you might just be throwing it out as an example...

But- there are 23 teams in the NFL this season that have lower completion rates than 65%. Only 9 above.

This is Pee Wee. In my opinion - early in the year in Pee Wee their just needs to be a threat of passing. A well thought game plan averaging anywhere to 35-50% completion and 80-150 yards. As the season progresses and builds improve, the threat should become a viable option in moving the chains. Although, the BEST passing teams shouldn't exceed 50-55% completion , and by BEST I'm saying player builds and game planning working together to make this possible.

I do realize that I'm wasting my breath right now.. we need more data and testing.

On that note : I just changed my D AI to run a mix of coverage and run stopping Ds for my preseason scrimmage today.. Points aren't assigned yet - and I don't know if my opponent has decided to pass.. but if they do , it will be a better mix of Ds than the Basic AI stuff.

yeah i just threw an arbitrary number out there based on early results, and peoples claims of 80%+ completion...I agree 65% is too high and im expecting my D to have 55% or less tbh

I'd like the median to be around 50% with the better passing teams in the low 60's and the worse teams in the 38-42 range. This is PeeWee, so I think it should still be about the run. But if you decide to throw it, you have a 50/50 chance to make a play, meaning it would be tough to only throw the ball, but you can do it well enough that the other team would have to respect it.

I think the main goal was to respect the pass, not fear it.

Passing completion % should also be related to distance of pass, with deep passes being a much lower % than short passes. If you have a 50/50 chance of hitting a deep pass, just air it out all day and always score, just like many people do in Madden, which isn't very realistic.

My Qb went 11/13.

10 Throwing
8 Strength
8 Vision

Yeah, but I've heard your OC is a GENIUS!

I mean, your QB completed a 8.5 yard pass to a fullback with 10 catching, 6 speed, 6 jumping, 8 vision and got a TD. GENIUS!

From watching my game, and a couple of others, it does appear passing got a little bit overpowered. But I say leave it as it is, don't throttle it back..

Defense's will have to adjust, and DC's will have to understand they will no longer be able to run shutdown defenses (like last season), rather the team that hemorrhages the least points wins (so DC's your job is to get a few stops here and there, OC's you better not get stopped!!!!).

I think this is a more fun version of peewee and will bring the league back from the brink (where a number of owners last season were prepared to just give up [a number did], and a number of others were about to declare a jihad on GLB ).

So before everyone complains that they are being raped by the passing game, remember ....YOU CAN PASS TOO!!! rape em right back! ...also as everyone stacks zones and double covers WR's, the running game will still be an important part of the offense.

I'm looking forward to this season. Once people start watching the pass, it will open up the running game again. Two seasons ago you could make something happen on the ground, but last season it was 100% run and it made me want to quit.

If the passing is overpowered, then it is overpowered for both teams. At least it will be exciting to watch and won't be decided on penalties.

I stand corrected. 16 penalties for 80 yards in the last game. Penalties can still kill the game.

I think an idea might be to turn interceptions up a little bit also (as you cant just chuck the ball round 50+ times a game in peewee and not get picked), so to help the defense a little insert some risk into the passing game (other than just an incomplete pass, which in the current sim is not a huge deal).

But not crazy int's numbers, again just the threat of a pick if your slingin it around a lot.

DC's would probably be ok if they could get some turnovers from the passing game.

The way I see it, the game becomes more dynamic. We need to throw out the thought that this is pee wee. Its a league where we pay money. This isnt real life so forget that real life pee wees dont pass. If it was compared to real life, players would be retiring around the age of 20. So once we get over the fact pee wees is just a name for this league, we can then see the better picture.
Teams have two options of attacking now. They can attack through the air hoping their opponent is playing the run and blitzing every down. In football when you blitz a lot one of two things happen, either they sack the QB or it goes for big yardage. The other option is to run the ball all game long. Hope to catch a defense playing zones or doubling the passing routes. This is by far the best thing for this LEAGUE. The past two seasons its run on downs 1-2 and if its long yardage then attempt a pass. This season we can now have the option, do I want to attack their blitzing style run coverage, or do I want to run the ball and hope to catch them playing deep.
I think people just dont like change. Last season I set up a defense and left it the same on 3 teams for the entire season and only changed it one time in the playoffs. This season requires actual scouting and trying to figure out what the opponent might come at you with. Football is a chess match. You have to guess what their next move is and the passing boost does just that.

Our passing went 23 for 38 and passed for over 350 yards

The entire Pee Wee league just changed!!! I LOVE IT!!! DC's will have to do their homework now versus just worrying about the run. It will also change how people build their players so they can no longer stack strength and tackling. It will change how people build their players for a 1 season run to the championship.

No matter what your team did last season.....this is a whole new game this season

In the case where the team with the most points at the end of the game had last possession, yes.
