I see talk of Pass Rush ,Containment or All round DE's.
Shouldn't it be more the case of LDE or RDE ie LDE more orientated to Run than RDE-
so stats will be different.
my RDE doesn't get many tackles as they seem to run away from him - so personel stats not good on tackles made.

Its not that they run away specifically from your DE, its just that teams run to the "strong side" which is the right side.

This is due to in the NFL most QB's are right handed so the "strong side" of the offense is the right side.

As stated, some of these posters are way off, and others aren't. Simply go through the posts, find the players with the best results. And listen to what they have posted, but I agree that figuring it out on your own is the fun part.

Heh, I know I don't know shit. My DE, despite having what I'd call a 'researched' build, still never does anything, lol. I think there's some key ingredient that I'm missing, which I'll stumble across someday (hopefully).

Well, I agree that finding out for myself would be fun, but you'll have to agree that getting 30+ sacks a season is fun too, at least I imagine it would be. When I weigh one against the other I can only come to the conclusion that the sacks sound more fun. So...no advice at all?

I think the problem I have is that acceleration isn't well defined. I opened a general trhead on it and everyone has a different opinion on what stats affect acceleration. Is it speed or agility or some combo of both. Acceleration would be the the greatest asset to a pass-rushing DE, but I have no clue what stats the devs THINK it should be comprised of. It should really be its own stat, but that's not the case. So I'm kind of stuck in my build, I know what I want but I don't know how to do it in terms of raw stats.

What about SA's? I'm of the people that believe Shed Block and Tunnel vision are the most important for sacks. I guess arguments for the first 2 could be made as well. What do you guys think?
