lolmvp...

Its all about relative importance to the team. Since the Bullets didn't have two all-star HBs also producing a lot of yards and TDs for them, Standridge is 'more valuable' to us.

Meh, you guys didn't have a weak running game tbh.

Congrats to the Wolfpack right half of the offensive line. Once again, a clean sweep of the top 3 pancake totals in the west.

TE - Frank Thomas
RT - Stonewall Jackson
RG - Danny Hughes

Be seeing you in the playoffs

Understanding that none of us to my knowledge has the actual calculation, there would be numerous flaws with determining a conference's MVP using only a comparison of % of yards and TDs contributed to the team. Things such as negative impact plays and team results should be factors to some degree.

Devising analytics similar to VORP and WX in baseball would be the ideal solution I'm sure. For now, though, it is what it is. I think we can all agree that there are much larger issues with this game than the MVP calculations.

Congratulations to all of the MVP winners for s11!

Using the current formula, Dan Marino would have won 9 MVP trophies! Holy schniekies!

LOL here's a better comparison.

The NFL just named Justin Tuck Defensive Player of the Week over his teammate Osi.

Osi had a FF and a 37 yard return of that fumble for a TD. (3-1 tackles w/ 1 sack)

Tuck had 4-1 tackles (1.5 sacks).

What a crock!

I didn't say whether or not I agreed with it, but that's the way that the MVP is determined.

Its just about the dumbest thing in GLB to this point anyway. Stellar idea to give the best players the best equipment too.

The ST MVP race in the West was really messed up.

Our Kicker was dominating even the offensive MVP race, but finished 2nd in the ST MVP because Punters are rated based on total punts...

How do you know that total punts are counted and not just the average? Also, if they are counted to some extent, how do we know if that amount is super tiny or fairly large, did Bort mention that somewhere?

It's a tough call cause your kicker was studly, but the punter did put up over 50 yards as his average which is also studly. It seems like the margins of their losses were much bigger than the margins of your wins, so I can see an argument for there being more value to your kicker since w/o him and with an average kicker (alluding to CTap's baseball stat analogy) then you might have had closer games and been exposed to more risk of losing those games. Whereas if the other team didn't have their punter and had an average punter in his place, then nothing would have changed for them at all, they still would have got shellacked every game, and the extra few yards of field position would have just delayed inevitable scores anyhow.

I'd have to vote for your kicker if it were me.

You have a completely illogical breakdown of numbers to support your argument for his position as 7th in the rankings. I don't think you understand what MVP truly means, let alone how to argue against the results of it. LOL, another hapless premise for an argument coming from you.
