So yeah, that's why this game is important to me. It's a measuring stick for us, because we've tried to take to good parts of the model for a championship team you guys demonstrated back in A5 when we didn't know how to build one, and figure out how to apply our strengths (being funny) to that model. I think it's been pretty succesful for both of us, and that's why it was such a big deal for me when we finally beat you in AAA (I think I said as much on the forums.) I have a lot of respect for you NWWarrior, and most of your team, guys like Jakemall and Tinker Bell and Chavezwhatever are great agents. But, yeah, that's my spiel. Good luck on the permafrost tomorrow, hopefully the best team will win.

Cool...really, if you look back at the A5 days I can see why LJ/Janine/J9 upset people but I or no other Nighthawk could control that. He/She (there is still debate to this day as to what LJ/Janine/J9 was) was a MOD established by Bort himself, we didnt do that and I think it was obvious we couldnt control him/her. When we had the chance we had Her/His players move on, simple as that. LJ had many issues in the GLB in many forums not just A5. I think in a way you guys enjoyed the lightning rod that was that particular MOD and made for plenty of Forum Fodder for the Kampfire! Its what made the Kampfire come to life.

As far as the Kind words I/we sincerely appreciate them. A5 was an absolute awesome time in GLB History...the game was still so new and there was so much going on that looking back I consider it one of the most entertaining seasons I have been a part of. It has been fun watching as both teams worked their way up to this point, you be bribing Bort and we having to earn it by winning trophies (you know I had to say that Track )
Should be an interesting game tomorrow, you guys are the favorites. I do wish we had Vlad around as we have ridden his coattails for many seasons and it actually concerns me that noone knows what happened to him. But we will give it all we got and as you said, May the best team win! Respect to KKAR

Wow, I haven't checked in on USA Pro since the start of the season. I decide to randomly check in and I come back to find this most excellent thread. Damn Track, seriously, your posts are second to none! All the other league forums are a wasteland by comparison.

And to find talk of the old Ketch/Terminator rivalry, hell damn, who'd a thunk anyone would still be talking about that?!? I'll tell you what, while we had a very good team in the Terminators, we could never beat you guys when it really mattered, and that always really just stuck in my craw. And then a few seasons into it to have some androgynous-mod-loving upstart shit talking team promote up and then pass us by... damn heartbreaking. But as GLB goes, rivals become respected adversaries become brothers-in-arms... sorta. Got lots of fond memories now of both your teams, those rivalries are what made this game great.

So no preferences here, good luck to both Ketch and NW, ton of respect for both of you. This definitely should be an epic matchup!

The Nighthawks came into A5 in season 4 as the best team in the league (sorry Hollywood), dead set on taking over the league and the forums while wielding a terrible, capricious mod like a weapon. For me, and I suspect most of the team, that was a wakeup call that we were going to have to get tough or die. So we took up arms, gave what we got if not more, and even though that once-enjoyable forum was a nightmare for that season, I'd like to think we were cutting off the foot to save the leg. If we hadn't stood up to Janine and by proxy the Mighthawks, she would have been in there editing out Pat's Sportscenter posts to say "LOL NIGHTHAWKS RULEZ" or some such shit by week 8. We went over-the-top at times, but I think the ends justified the means.

The fact is that we came into the league posting all friendly-like in Jake's New Kids in Town thread: http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=616459&page=1 When LJ/Janine/J9/Omle locked a recruiting thread that had been in the A5 for half a season, she was attacked by most of the league claiming she was abusing her mod powers. FWIW, we originally signed LJ, not Janine to our team. This person was not a mod at the time, and we were all pretty surprised to see the mod status midway through season 3.

Soon after, Janine posted a trash-talking thread. She was really the only trash-talker on our team. NW and I always preferred the quiet business-like forum personality (Nighthawks overrated, tbh). We had picked up Chavez and TenTwo that offseason from our main rival, and they were the "bad boys" of BBB10, but they were pretty harmless too. Anyway, Janine made the stupid mistake of editing someone's post as a joke, and that (on top of the already-brimming hate for her over her modlyness) caused a massive snowballing of trash-talking, culminating in a barrage of personal, sexist attacks on Janine from KKK members and guys like corvax, MuffinMan, and Warhawk. It lasted all season.

As I mentioned earlier, the early banter in A5 that season was hilarious. groove is a forum ninja, and we miss the hell out of him not posting anymore. When the attacks got personal from the other side, it stopped being fun, and it was tedious having to stand up for my players all of the time. All along, NW was a boyscout, and he was continually disrespected by the KKK. Frankly they showed a massive lack of class, and they've never once relented from that.

But all that aside, KKK play some crazy-good dotball, and playing them is always a lot of fun. They are easily my favorite team to play, and like Track said, a good measuring stick for our team.

Not we. And not recently. thunderdoozer is just a bad guy. Sorry, I have a hard time not recognizing that. This was pre-me being associated with KKAR btw. Nothing to do with KKAR at all.

I see...Thunder isnt a bad guy(actually a pretty good guy) but you know how the internet works, perceptions are what they are interpreted as when you read peoples posts. GLB just heightens that with the posts flung around the forums imho.

When pmagic is saying bad guy he doesn't mean criminal. Thunder might be someone I could hang out with in person, but on GLB he enjoys getting a rise out of people and being a troll, which is fine, but I don't know why he'll never admit it since everyone who sees him post knows it.

I enjoy the occasional ball-busting or lame joke, but there is no way I am a troll by GLB standards (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Track is the classic example of a troll (not that there's anything wrong with that), as a safe majority of his posts are shots at someone.

I don't know what you want from me, frankly. You spend a lot of time criticizing, insulting, and trolling (not that there's anything wrong with that) me. If you looking for another apology (or breakdown) like in the Janine days, I'll "lol in your face" in the words of TenTwo. I'll play your little games with you, but I'm sticking to a level of basic decency, and if you can't forgive the fact that I stand up for my players or condemn the kind of disrespectful remarks you guys have the propensity to make, so be it.
