Aha, but I think you might need to consider when you SIGN a dedicated KR/PR you might need to understand what his role is going to be.

And for your second point, like I said, this might be a different situation we are talking about. If S2BJ is gonna get 68 TDs, yeah you need to put someone behind him that game, thats obvious. but not if hes a middling level guy who might break 10. This happens alot.

I do want to restate my point, we see it as the rest of the team wanting to stroke THEIR ego at the cost of letting you do anything at all. Again, the XP is not the issue Im talking for other people here, some of which might come in here and argue just so they dont look like the jackhole that I do right now. I can get away with it, most guys cant. I know of several that would flat out shock you that have bitched to me about this. ("well, id have more trophies if they didnt give all my opportunities away")

Its not your guy, but youd be shocked who said that, I gaurantee you.

I just think that it's better to have 1 guy who is happy with his role on the team get close to max xp and the rest on the team get max xp. It's not like the QB, RB's and WR's don't like to put up big numbers in these games also. KR/PR's aren't the only ones. This way everyone wins.

Again, its not about XP. it flat out isnt. that XP for that one game isnt going to amount to a hill of beans.

Its about the rest of the team doing EXACTLY what you are saying these returners are doing, being upset about not getting stats. Again, its not about the big boys, its the guys who are on the second teir who might take SOME plays away from the offense.

I'm not sure how you can say that I'm bitching at you. I've never said that your approach is wrong. I've simply been defending our owner and backing up our reasoning.

no, im not saying that at all.

im not even trying to attack your owner or reasoning. i knee jerk dispute this logic because most teams that employ it dont have to.

Honestly, I wish there was a way to set up a custom depth chart and save it for CPU games. It is tough enough to get the backup O-line, Blocking TE and both FB's enough XP. To go along with that there is the advanced energy settings that would need to be incorporated into that Grease Monkey.

I think that guys who create special teams only players like to keep everything close to the vest on what they have found works and I am also along that line of agent. However on the issue of XP you know as well as I do from having special teams only players that distance runner basically takes away any game energy that you use when you play ST. I think that the way to get your XP for your PR/KR is to dump 15 into distance runner and then play him both ways on ST. Now I haven't suggested this to S2BJ, but I do think that this is going to be the way that KR/PR's go in the future.

Now I do miss the days when I could have 10 Special teams only guys on my team. Since the roster limits I have had to split them up between 2 teams. I have often watched your pbp to see how your guys roll. I have been impressed with the return game.

Having special teams players does not hurt normal depth, it improves normal depth, as you need less players to effectively backup at all positions. thus you never have that 3rd string guy in, because your second string guy isnt getting tired running after pee wee and ashley.

I can see this logic being wrong early in a teams makeup, but you shouldnt be making your ST unit at the same time you are making your team anyway.

Yeah I hear you.

I have 1 backup for every spot and can only fill 5 ST players.

Same here. Its tough to get special teamers in the first place. I think my teams ST's is much much much improved from last season mainly due to the KR/PR we got but we will still get blown away by the right team.
