This is what I ended up doing. I'm currently sitting on 81 strength, 110 agility, and plan on adding 3 points into strength next season.

My last decision is what I'd rather do, bring speed from 75 to 80, or agility from 110 to 115.
(this decision will be implemented in season 12 via level 56 equipment)

(I'm spending SP and training to get strength to 85)

I think I'm going to switch my EQ around on my now-46 DE to look pretty similar. 80 strength, 80 speed and 103ish agility once he hits 48.

so is it better to be a break tackle machine with like
71 strength 84 speed 112 agility

or to have a bit more speed and go like
71/90/106?

that trophy shelf is looking a little light for "perfection"

I have a high agl/speed build that's rounding out STR currently .... works pretty well for me

I pull in a fair # of TFLs and I don't miss tackles when covering the run ... Not quite at 4cap STR, but close. Seems to do the job at the moment, but Im most likely gonna push to 5cap.

My DE is not particularly playing for stats, he is playing to win.
With 100 Strength I can take 2 players out of the run block equation when double teamed so the LB/SS can make the tackle.
With 100 Strength I can make a ROT use up energy he not used to using by him not being able to pancake me.
I also agree with the shortest distance to the QB in THRU or OVER the ROT.
I guess I just hate losing my feet when my job is to stay upright and fight.
The other 7 guys behind me want tackles also.
Also I would rather demoralize the O-line than vice-versa.

I'd rather see the NT + DT filling this role with the DEs either making sacks or picking up outside rushers

IMHO, It is hard to tackle outside rushers when you have just been pancaked.

sure ... which is why I don't have 20 strength. I don't think that you'll have issues if you aim for 80 vs 100, unless you are squaring off against a pure strength OT ... in which case you'll most likely smoke them with your 110 agl

I was referring to the a strength based LDE as per the thread topic. Not really a stat getter. This guy, however, is all about teh stats.

http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1292444 I'll be 2 capping strength at about lvl 33.

after watching the scims I really think Bort tweaked the STR again. 75 str doesn't seem like enough anymore.

I just swapped some eq from str to agi, down to low 80s on str now, see if I can break blocks better now, my str DE wasn't doing much these scrims, maybe it's not just str then since I know you have high agi DEs.

I am acutally going for a more balanced build lol.

I am going to try 90/90/100. just waiting for some equipment upgrades and 6 levels
