considering how competitive gold league will be (i still think it should have been called PRO, not gold, but whatever), there's a good chance that the "bottom 8" will end up dropping down one season and then bouncing back up the next. I expect you'll see some of the same teams oscillating in and trading off seasons because "bottom 25% gold" maybe still be more than enough to win in silver, since there are 8 leagues and the competition is fairly dilute.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing though, if that's the way it works out, then those are the teams that deserve it. Other than the naming scheme, I'm pretty satisfied with how it fell out. We all knew it would take a couple seasons to get sorted out completely.

Yeah I would have preferred it to be called 'Pro' but I guess that would have cheapened it for the real pro leagues who pay the full amount of flex.... (wait???).

I get what Bort was doing with 'Gold' (you got to win gold to go there..... even though some teams haven't), I still don't like the title!

Darkus, can we get it changed to Pro please???

Thanks Robbnva

I am confident that our staff will maximize what we have.

We damn sure aren't going to roll over. We will just have to be strategic and watch tape of most every game.

A good start means everything for our team. I can't wait to see our schedule. I am sure it will make me flinch.

I have no power. I am just a pawn in the game.

From this point onwards though, you will have to win gold to be in the Gold league.

This is why I was hoping for a four tiered structure that was taller rather than wider. But everyone else complained that it would take three seasons to get into Pro, so my idea was not implemented. I was hoping that Senior would be the cream, and Junior would be the ultra-competitive league below it that kept teams ready for Pro, while teams that could win in Sophomore would move into the highly competitive Juniors.

I knew that the talent base would be spread very thin in this system.

makes sense to me

edit - so does that mean next season every team except the league champion will leave the gold league?

Good post Redwin.

Last season in L10 we already had great competition with Coastal, Longhorns, Deep South Baby Makers, Tedd's, U of Plainville, etc. It took something to win games in that league and with no disrespect to our new Silver league, for me it is like being seriously demoted. Looking at the teams in the other Silver leagues, and I see TONS of crap teams....I am talking about teams with just a couple human players on their roster right now and they are just going to get killed.

IMHO we should have had half the teams in Silver with both conference champs moving up. This makes the most sense to me as it creates a talent gradient so that Copper is for new fish or CPU, Silver is for decent teams and Gold rejects but the quality is a big step up from Copper, and Gold is the cream. Right now Gold is still the cream, but there's not a very significant different in Silver and Copper. TOO MANY TEAMS is the real problem here, as it has been in the past. No one wants two super tough piers, but there should be an increase in difficulty as you work from Copper to Gold.

First year there are bound to be some issues that come up that can be tweaked next season, I just really hope this is one of them.

I agree. Not having CEP, Westside, Crib, DTMCF, Baby Makers, etc. in my div is making this a very easy season for the DI. Here's hoping that Bort fixes the feeder leagues before the season starts.

It doesnt matter what the level is...ANY re-structure is going to take time to work itself out...2-3 seasons for sure.

Cloud got a bit better this season and will be better next and so on....same w/ world and same w/ Peewee

People dont think the cloud is working because they see levels, but what they dont realize is that high level teams can suck if hte build is bad or they dont gameplan well.

I still would have rather seen 2 or 4 silver leagues. 8 just made the leagues paper thin and more insult to the bubble teams (yeah I'm talking about me! ) that didn't make the Pro cut because teams like this http://goallineblitz.com/game/team.pl?team_id=7956 who beat 1 human team all year (maybe 2) and then lost to the other human team in the championship could get in.

I'd much rather have 2 loaded Silver leagues stacked with teams like Dharma, Sunscreen, Dyslexik, Mud Dogs, Destroyers, West Side, San Antonio, Deep South, Belfast, the Hermans, Crib Midgets, etc. That'd be one helluva competitive league and whoever came out on top would be worthy of a Pro league.
