Yeah, expanding it to 128 teams (all Pro League playoff teams) would be nice as well, despite being more taxing. Something tells me things need to be worked further on a solid tourney structure to not leave anyone out

Indeed, if my team was more competitive as of late and left out due to having one slightly off year when we were strong every year beforehand and some new one year wonder took our chance that would definitely be something I'd be complaining about. lol

IMO, Bort took the easy way out.

Idk I think it's a bigger step towards a built in tourney system that auto-schedules games, tracks statistics, etc.

But is that really that much better than what we currently have? Look, I'm not really upset about the tourney....but Bort promised a World League and he didn't deliver.

Blame Wrath Of Conor for building the hype under false assumptions. Bort didn't build the hype or make all these 'promises'.

I believe the exact quote from Bort was "There will be a World League in S11. Count on it."

If we had a forum search, I'd link it...but I'm sure others here saw it as well.

As pleased as I am as an OFG'r not to have missed out on the WPL, I have to say it sucks for MEM, Cincy, HHW, and OtR. They all earned a spot under what everyone thought the rules were, and now they'll have to do it all over again (and the almost certainly will win into the WPL)

It also sucks for S1 players, who will now never (in all likelihood) get to play a season in the WPL.

WPL had a chance to end the regional inequities in the game. Obviously not so much a problem for USAPL teams, but imo a real issue for teams like Bonn, Emmaus (yes, biased), etc., that basically have meaningless regular seasons.

Jesus can he make a fucking decision already. The World league is a bad idea in my opinion anyway. The PWT is better than this tourney, but if he really wants a tourney than his idea is better than using the original idea. This thing is a big clusterfuck as usual.

I'm not sure how else Bort could seed the teams w/o a seeding committee's opinionated input. At this point level is just about out the window.

Doesn't some guy have a RPI type program that he eliminated gutted teams from the process? Seems like that would work better than going off just straight records.

But I agree that this World tourney would still be seeing worse competition than the PWT. People can bitch all they want, but USA Pro sent 11 teams to the PWT bracket stage. There is no doubting that this is by far the strongest and deepest league.

OTR wasn't even in the PWT....we got snubbed
