good plan. i'd like to see added that if a team doesnt make the playoffs for x number of seasons, then they need to be demoted even if they arent ever in the bottom 8. as is, you can make it to the pros as a 1 season wonder and possibly never be a playoff team again yet still manage not to be demoted.

I can't see that happening. With 4 teams moving up, to each conference, hungry for the title it will be a highly competitive league. I think you would see a natural drop off without the need for this. Plus, if someone can hang in there season after season in 9th place then they deserve to stay there as it will mean that they are still better then the 4 new teams that moved up.

this is where i think the plan falls apart because this will create the same situation that the current pro leagues have been plagued with. once you are in the pros, you never really have to prove anything ever again. you just have to be good enough not to get demoted. you dont have to be in 9th place, you just have to be in 12th place and i would argue that there will be many teams in the lower leagues that are more deserving to be pro than a team that is consistently in the 9th thru 12th spot. there should be no free rides.

This would be my issue with a taller system as well. Me and the other DoRD owners will be making a 2nd team next season. I understand we'll have to go through 2 seasons of easy games to make it to pro, and we're willing to do it because peewee-pro is a good cause; but 3 seasons would be 5 months to get to the competitive league, and that starts sounding a little excessive.

Actually, my old plan had winners of tier 2, conference winners of tier 2, and winners of tier 3 moving up (if any Pro teams did not renew), but it also had all teams that didn't make playoffs dropping out.

I like the idea of the teams that dont make the playoff dropping down. It will keep things fresh and most certainly raise the level of competition.

Simple enough handicap for winners of CPU leagues?

That is good in theory but the Guppies have probably been a top 5 overall team the past two years and are sitting in the mostly CPU league #23. Which also had Lehigh Iron Hogs who beat the Guppies in the Semi's last year. I know that eventually the cream will rise to the top but it's tough to just say that the bottom end competition is so bad so we'll punish the top end.

just take top 32 from GLB pee wee tourney as the pro...maybe unfair, but use that as a starting point and then randomize from there...the cream will rise to the top

That won't happen in pee wee. You have 8 teams at the top, 4 in the middle and 4 at the bottom. The 4 at the bottom fall out and make way for another 4 Gold Winners from the lower league. Because pee wee resets you can't rely on having higher levels to just coast. Those four new teams will be fighting for the title so they will move up and push the other four down if they don't try. This is pee wee, and it is brutal. Not like the pro teams out there.

If someone manages to retain a 9th place spot every season then they deserve to be in the pee wee pro league as it means that they are good enough. If another team was better than them then they would move up and knock them down to 10th place, and then the next team would knock them down to 11th, and so on.

Make the playoffs or fight your way back up like everyone else.

Plus we'll also have a few teams probably close shop each season (as it is in any league) so I'd expect a few additional teams to move up each season.

Yeah, either way, somebodies getting shorted somewhere. I guess we'll wait for it to wash out.

Not every team was in it, also it precludes slower building and cap building Pee Wee teams who are counted among the best builds in Pee Wee.

Getting in late on this ......... So the Teams that Boost go to a higher league next year? Im not sure this will work with every Year you have to start from scratch. What make you a good team this year may not be the same next year. Sure I for one would love to get into a better league. But whats to say whats a good league this year will be one next?

no, teams that WIN go into the higher leagues. There are lots of boosters that don't win, and lots of winners that don't boost; I would submit to you my own team (DoRD), which won the official peewee tourney this season with no boosters.

There will only be 1 pro league. A team that is good enough to win championships 2 seasons in a row and make it into the pro league knows something about running a peewee team and can be expected to offer much better competition to like minded teams in the pro league than your average peewee team. If it turns out they don't, they will get kicked out of pro after 1 season of sub-par performance to give another lower league winner a shot at the big time.

So you would have to win back to back championships just to get a sniff? I haven't looked but are there are 32 teams that won back to back? Then if you get in, whats a sub par performance under 500? some teams are going to loose. Lets say there are 5 teams that go under 500. Then you have to find 5 back to back winners to take those teams places? So lets say there are 33 teams that fit the criteria, who gets left out?
