here's what going to 74 right away will do.

L17 right now with 76 speed, 52 agility. By L40 he'll have 84+ speed, 80+ agi, and 68+ str base.

can someone who is more clued up on the math, explain the longer term implications of taking speed to 68, then agility to 68 before taking speed to 77 and agility to 77?

i was thinking this is the way i am going with my DEs. just because i felt they would be more productive throughout their career then going speed 77 agility 77.

anyone?

At level 40...
If you 1st capped speed first, it'll reach 64
If you 2nd capped speed first, it'll reach 74
if you 3rd capped speed first, it'll reach 80
If you 4th capped speed first, it'll reach 84
If you 5th capped speed first, it'll reach 86

You can 1st cap at level 3
You can 2nd cap at level 7
You can 3rd cap at level 10
You can 4th cap at level 13
You can 5th cap at level 16

so by 3rd capping speed and moving onto agility to 3rd cap then returning to speed and back to agility both 5th cap. what does that do to the end numbers?

the reason i ask, is that 5th capping speed leaves you a long time without production. its hard to get a decent game out of your guy without agility. or am i missing the point?

You only miss out on like a season and a half of production. But it's worth it. And no I didn't exactly build like that but it's definitely not a bad way to go.

I think he's doing OK this season?

Not exactly sure where it will leave me (thats what I'm doing) but I will have them both to 78 at lvl 27. My natural speed won't be as high as someone who went straight speed but his natural agility will be higher. I will also use less SPs to get there meaning I can get strength higher sooner.

What are the auto level gains for DE and DT? More specifically how much does a primary attribute increase. I have been watching some of my players and it the auto leveling amount has been decreasing to like .27 something (I think). Is this because of how high the attribute is or is it because of your level?

The auto level gains go down as you get higher in level. That's why getting your primaries up first is important.

For a DE...
Level 1-21, you gain .5 per level
Level 22-29, you gain .375 per level
Level 30-37, you gain 75% of .375 per level
etc.

For a DT...
Level 1-21, you gain (2/3) per level (.66666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666667)
Level 22-29, you gain .5 per level
Level 30-37, you gain .375 per level
etc.

In layman's terms, your auto level gains get cut into 75% every 8 levels starting at level 22.

Also, In your first season as a DE, Speed will get you sacks. Going straight to the 5th cap should take you around one and a half seasons (like misled said), plus you can keep EQ in Agility the whole time. Then once you start pumping Agility to the 5th cap afterwords, you'll be an absolute monster until you get out of the minors where most OTs will have decent Agility/Speed/Vision/Confidence to keep up with you, at which point you should move on to Strength. Once you 5th cap Agility, though, including equipment, you should have around 86 Speed and 102 or so Agility and you should be around level 32 or so. Then you pump Strength for a little while to keep your production up, then Tackling, then Vision, then Vision/Confidence, then SAs. This has been How to Build A DE 101.

took speed/agl to 74 right off the bat. str is almost to 68, still training vision/conf

He's #1 in the DMVP race, in the top 3 for sacks/hurries since his 2nd season

i basically did the same thing here: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=1101452
(season 9 was level 30 in an uncapped league)

with eq split, 88spd, 95agi, 69str... looks like the same end result as kayoh above, except i give up maybe 10 agility for maybe 15 strength?

then speed to 48,
then agility to 68,
then speed to 60,
then vision to 48,
then speed to 68
then agility to 74
then strength/tackle 48
then speed to 74

EQ 85% in AGI, 15% in Speed

But remember you can alter you plans if ADV EQ comes along to make something more beneficail to your player, my DE had +3 Speed 5% force fumble, so I got strength/tackle up a little faster than I wanted, and added power tackle in VAs. So he has a 33% chance added to FF, which overall is more than he lost.

I say you put this many SP's into vision for a de 00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Nah train it to like 40 then add a couple. Maybe a little more at the higher levels.

If you're gonna cap it, you might as well get it done and over with and get the bonus rollover train too, to get it to almost 50. By the time you have it trained to 40, you should be mostly done with the primaries anyway.

To me Cap is the end. I want to try not to spend any sps on it. I don't know some people like double capped vision. I would just rather not worry about it until later and just train it. My level 39 D.E had 31 vision just with training. I want to Get str to 68 so I have been going +3 str +2 vision per level right now.
