So a world league wouldn't change BLPP's mind to stick it out another season, if they are in the top 4?

Yes they can. We'll just take Garuda's spots. Not like they have any good teams.

We've got the season 10 SEAPL champions over here in Garuda...

Something I just thought of. I doubt it is really suggestion worthy but it would help make a world league viable. (Otherwise all the teams in the league will be cycled out every year as teams drop before the decline)

What if the rate which players declined each year was based on the competition they face. Pretty much just like having the level caps although penalizing older players from playing below their level/age range. For instance if an NFL QB is playing against High School kids for a season he is gonna get worse more rapidly than an NFL QB of the same age who is still competing and practicing against NFL defenses.

i dunno. I know people have been clamoring for a world league for some time now, but I don't think it's the best idea.

it's going to further separate people, which is too bad. It's going to create a super-niche of GM's who will do nothing other than be in the world league. it's already near impossible to locate GOOD top notch GM's who actually know how to handle the AI. I see long time users who claim to have working knowledge of the AI, but they still don't quite comprehend all of its intricacies.

I see some minor league teams and it's just like hack-city. They're all hackin' it, but nobody is really good at it.

we'll see. I know some of the top pro teams are already struggling to have any competition, but that's just a problem with GLB in general. Bort sucks sweaty ballsack at communicating, and therefore only the hyper-active users are able to keep up with all the little details. He drops information bombs on random threads like seagulls dropping bird shit on random cars, it's so hard to keep track of pertinent information most of the time.

seriously. I have much respect for Manila, but they aren't champions by any stretch of the imagination.

I just don't see anyone other than LSP or Bangkok coming out of Garuda, at which point BPP or ESL will win that match, again.

Don't we already have this w/ USAPL?

i think part of that is just alot of season 1 guys have been retired. there are the owners who grasped right off the bat that cap building was the way to go, and those guys are gold right now. but alot of owners who didnt figure this out for a few seasons, they've already scrapped their players and started their second (and maybe third) generations. i think in a few seasons we'll really see league parity stabilize a bit as the late-blooming second gen slow builds become pro players across the boards.

that's not to say that alot of team owners will magically become better at gameplanning and AI, but it'll help.

The more I think about this the more I dislike this idea. If ESL makes it, I lose one of the main reasons this game is still fun, SEAPL. Not only that, but I dislike many of the USA squads for there arrogance. The only team I'd really want to play is the Benitos, the rest would give me no satisfaction besides shutting up the certain ones that run there mouths about USAPL's greatness all the time. WPL is just going to be a headache and cause more problems in the forums than anything else. I think it's a distraction so Bort doesn't have to fix his sim. AKA get everyone off his ass about player decline.

The only way I can see it being somewhat succesful is with a very high rate of turnover, something along the lines of all the non playoff teams drop back down, if not even more. If it's done, it should be made so you have to absolutely bust your ass to stay in it.

wouldn't change mine if I were them. This game is about the forums, not the flashing dots. The WPL forum is going to absolutely fucking blow. The competition will be fun, but isn't joe tired of gameplanning for like 3 regular season SEAPL games +playoffs already? I know of some people in ESL that are. How long till the allure wears off and you see twenty games minimum every two days you have to plan for, much harder than games you planned for here. I wonder the frustrations coordiantors will go through when they are doing all the work by themselves in that league.

Seeing the best teams in the WPL would be cool to watch no doubt and probably good for the game. But don't be shocked if some people don't want to put even more of there lives into this game. I just think this will lead to teams burning out quicker than they would have. Maybe i'm in the minority on the forums thing, but i'd rather come here and talk to some of the bad posters here then talk with 90% of the canada/usa people. I also worry that I will lose the thing that DID bring me to GLB because of this league.

This idea isn't a bad one, I just think the timing of it, the execution of it(well, once it happens), the forum bitching/posturing(USA already has started) and then the necessary fixes after it's done all stink. If there's one thing GLB taught me it's to not think Bort will get anything right the first time. For the king of the hill league, that just smells very very bad

geez riots, i'd hate to see what you'd say if you didn't have much respect for us

my gut reaction to the world league is that it is an interesting concept, but until i see more details on how it would work, i think it's going to be a nightmare and fail miserably at its supposed purpose....finding the best of the best.

the idea of planning day to day is what you will find is USAPL...im sorry to be like that...but its just straight up the truth....i personally think its time for teams like ESL and Bandar to put their money where their mouth is...so many times i hear i want to concentrate on league play and not put my heart into a tourney...well...the world league is certainly the time to do that as that will be your league...if its short lived...oh well...im sorry to see a dynasty like them die but it happens day to day in GLB...teams fold...new ones are formed...certainly havent seen the talent fall in GLB I can honestly say from being part of the rankings committee...

as far as forums are concerned...i really dont find this forum to be much more entertaining than any other forum...and ive been a part of all of them except CPL...and i hate CPL's forum...

I like SEAPL and all...but if this is what it comes to...its what it comes to and you work through it and continue till your the best...the forums are around no matter what league you play in...however the dots only play in certain leagues...and the point is to be the best or your just here spending money...
