you're right, just because linemen don't record stats, they must not be important. Who makes running lanes so that the running backs can get yards? Who protects the qb so he has enough time to get the ball to the receivers?

Take a look at the lions. Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson... too very good (if not great) WR's. Kitna is decent... better than a lot of teams have. And yet, their offense continue to struggle. Why? Because the linemen can't open up running lanes, and Kitna is on his back half the game.

WHOAH .. roy and calvin are not great , roy is good , calvin is not proven. Kitna only got to up alot of passing yards due to mike martz being the O cord. his numbers are going to drop severely this year . Or the lions just dont have a rb who can get the job done

that explains why the carson palmer always gets sacked, and has no time to throw the ball and give two of his WRs 1000+ yards

Palmer has 2 good OTs in Willie Anderson and Levi Jones. A great OT in my eyes is more important because your QB has to have time to throw it, look at the playoff teams name one of them with a bad Oline then look at the worst teams and how many of them have good Olines, the Rams had good WRs last year but could not get it done because their Oline was bad and injured.

the rams have poor defense, and bulger was injured tahts why they couldnt get it done.
So what you guys are saying is coaches look for WR over linemen now?

Correct if you've adopted the Matt Millan philosophy

An RB and a QB, thus the WRs, are only as good as the line protecting them.

Anyone that knows anything about football knows that the game starts in the trenches.

WRs, while valuable, are not as important as the Line.

As a Browns fan I know this best, we had our success on offense this year because we went from a very bad unit to a very, very good one this year. Braylon Edwards and Winslow had career years as Anderson had time to throw, and Lewis had lanes to run through.

I will take a HOF Tackle over a HOF WR any day of the week. The Tackles are so, so much more valuable.

If you could ask any coach in the NFL, all would tell you the line is the most important position in football(aside from QB)

WR's would be considered the least important

Matt Millen and Marinelli would fiercely disagree with you.
